Saved, Healed, and Freed in Name of Jesus - November 17, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, November 17 - Saved, Healed, and Freed in Name of Jesus   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill my spirit and guide my steps with all You have for me today, as I entrust my heart and my steps to You today. ...   “Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed” (Acts 5:16).   We can’t save anyone or heal anyone or free anyone. But You can. And You do. You’re still healing the brokenhearted and setting the captives free, as the Good News of Your Kingdom is proclaimed in our world (Luke 4:18, fulfilling Isaiah 61). As the Father sent You, so You send us in the power of Your Holy Spirit, as You continue Your ministry through the lives Your disciples today (John 14:12; 20:21).   Last night a woman came to the church where we were praying and ministering. Someone brought her to that church for the first time last Sunday and brought her back for the meeting last night. She asked for prayer for freedom from spiritual attacks in her sleep and terrible pain in her body. She needed Your healing and freedom. But first she needed Your salvation.   So she opened up her heart to receive You as Lord and Savior! And then through prayer, with a measure of jolting and release, You set her free from the tormenting spirits! It was so beautiful to see her face turn from the tenseness of pain to the joy of freedom!   Healing and freedom don’t always come in a moment. So much of it comes in a daily journey, little by little along the way. But it is very exciting and so encouraging in those moments when we do see You move in Your power and in Your love to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free before our eyes!   By the power of Your grace in the moving of Your Holy Spirit, keep moving in our lives to keep healing and freeing us. And keep moving through our lives to keep healing and freeing others. Freely we have received and now freely we give (Matthew 10:8). In the same way You have comforted us in Your salvation and healing and freedom, may You send us to comfort others with the same grace we have received from You (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).   Through Your people obeying Your Word and going forth in Your Spirit wherever You send us in the power of Your name, may the knowledge of Your glory cover the earth as the waters cover the sea! (Acts 1:8; Habakkuk 2:14; Isaiah 11:9) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Search Me and Know Me - November 10, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, November 10 - Search Me and Know Me   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Draw me close to You, as I listen for the leading of Your Spirit to begin my day centered in You--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. 5 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it” (Psalm 139:1-6).   I thank You that You know all about me. Nothing is hidden from You--the things I want You to know and even the things I wish You didn’t know. But You know it all, good and bad, through and through. And yet You love me. And You’re for me. And You want the very best for me.   So I can trust You to “Search me, O God, and know my heart” to “Try me, and know my anxieties” (v. 23). I can trust You to “See if there is any wicked way in me”--anything in me that’s wounded, broken, or bound, anywhere in my heart that stuck, hidden away, or buried--so You can “lead me in the way everlasting” (v. 24).   There’s healing and freedom in You, as I trust You to know me and search me. For You are my “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). And You’re going to keep pursuing me and loving me and healing me and freeing me to keep growing me up to become all You created me to be--whether I like it or not--because I’ve given You my heart. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Letting Go and Taking Hold - November 9, 2023

Morning by Morning, November 9 - Letting Go and Taking Hold   Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, be King of my heart and Lord of my life this day and every day. ...   “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:12-14).   By the power of Your grace, I let go of what lies behind; and I take hold of what lies ahead. I don’t ignore what lies behind. I don’t pretend what lies behind didn’t happen. And I don’t let what lies behind control me, identify me, or limit me. I entrust all that lies behind to You--at the foot of the cross and under the blood of Jesus.   And as I let go, then I can take hold. I take hold of all You have for me today and every day to come. I take hold of my identity in You as a child of God and disciple of Christ. I take hold of my destiny in the plans You have for me, for my good and not for my harm, a future filled with hope in the good things of God. I take hold of Your hand, as You lead me by my heart, as a child of God led by the Spirit of God, filled with faith to trust You and Your ways on my spiritual journey.   I’ve not already attained my destination. And my destination is not so much a place as a personification of the character of Christ You are forming in me. For Your will is to conform me into the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). As You are, so am I to be (1 John 4:17). Day by day, Morning by Morning, step by step, choice by choice, layer upon layer, precept upon percept, face to face, You making me more like You as I keep my eyes on You (2 Corinthians 3:18). This is my goal. This is my prize--“the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”   I know You’ll keep giving me the grace to keep letting go and taking hold, as I keep pressing on and reaching forward to all You have for me each day on my journey of becoming more like You. I can’t do it, but You can. And I believe You will (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, November 8 - Sent Out Two by Two to Help Facilitate Encounters with Jesus   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit and lead me in Your way, now and throughout the moments of my day. ...   “After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go” (Luke 10:1).   My wife, Rocio, and I are two You’ve sent out before Your face into this beautiful city of Algeciras, Spain. You’ve sent us to prepare the way of the Lord in the hearts of those who are opening their hearts to You for inner healing and spiritual freedom of all that would hold them back from all You created them to be. You’ve sent us out to help facilitate encounters with You. May we be found faithful of their trust in You and their trust that You would use us to minister the power of Your love, mercy, healing, and freedom into their lives.   We love to see the tears of cleansing and release, followed by the smiles of joy and freedom! Then many receive a passion to minister Your healing and freedom to others--whether at home, at work, at school, at church, or wherever You send them out two by two or even one on one, but always heart to heart, to prepare the way of the Lord in the hearts of those who are ready for an encounter with You. Freely they receive, then freely they give.   As You said to Your first disciples as You sent them forth, You continue to say to Your disciples today as You send us forth: “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). As Your Word says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).   We’re thankful for where You sent us yesterday. And we’re excited to see where You send us today--in every place where You Yourself are about to go--into the depths of hearts hungry for an encounter with You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, November 7 - Inner Healing Prayer Ministry--Free to Be Like Jesus   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...   “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19-20).   Much of our ministry this week in Algeciras, Spain is to be meeting, praying, and ministering inner healing and spiritual freedom with the church and ministry leaders. As we come together in Your name, You’ll be with us--our Healer and Deliverer, our Comforter and Friend, healing and freeing and filling afresh with Your Holy Spirit.   We pray they will be able to trust us and trust that You would use us to come alongside them as they open up their hearts to You. Give us Your grace to help facilitate these encounters with You, as You’re setting hearts free, healing up wounds, and breaking off chains so that each one is set free from all that would hold them back from being all You created them to be in the power of Your love.   Thank You for the honor to come alongside those who will be vulnerable and trusting, yet hungry for more of all You have for them--just as You’ve done and continue to do in us. You’re still healing the brokenhearted and setting the captives free--Free to Be Like Jesus—as a people hungry and eager to have Your character formed in our hearts so You can trust us to move with Your power and authority through our lives. May Your name be glorified and our lives fulfilled, living our calling and fulfilling our destiny in You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
