"Then Moses and Aaron,
Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up, and they saw the
God of Israel. Under His feet there was something like a pavement of sapphire
stone, like the very heaven for clearness. God did not lay His hand on the chief
men of the people of Israel; also they beheld God, and they ate and drank"
(Exodus 24:9-11).
A diamond with sapphires,
set in white gold-it seems even the wedding ring that would represent our
covenant with You and with each other would have prophetic significance and
meaning for Sylvia and me. The diamond speaks of Your indestructible bond. The
sapphires speak of Your abiding Presence. The golden ring speaks of Your eternal
commitment, forever fulfilling Your promises to us. And You've called us to
enter into this indestructible bond, this abiding Presence, and this eternal
commitment in covenant with You and one another by the provision of Your grace
and the power of Your love.
You've created Your
children to long for love-Your love for us and Your love expressed through us.
Love is the power that calls us to commitment, and love is the power that
sustains that commitment. And it's only the covenant of commitment, rooted and
grounded in the power of Your love, that's infused with the Presence of God and
sealed with the authority of heaven. You dwell in the midst of our covenant of
love. "Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who
loves is born of God and knows God.... If we love one another, God lives in us,
and His love is perfected in us" (1 John 4:7-12).
Your love for each of us is
indestructible, and Your Presence with each of us is ever-abiding. Your covenant
of commitment to us is eternal, for "the steadfast love of the Lord is from
everlasting to everlasting" (Psalm 103:17). Thank You, Lord, for choosing to
express Your covenant of love for me through my love for my bride and her love
for me. May the diamond and sapphires she wears on her ring remind me each day
of Your steadfast, unfailing love for us and for one another. In Jesus' name I
pray, Amen.

Friends, thank you for your
prayers for us this weekend in Western Pennsylvannia: Empowered for
Greatness conference with Tommy & Sylvia Hays at Alverton UMC with
Pastor Tommy Shirer. The Holy Spirit moved mightily in all of our hearts, with
many testimonies to the power of His life-changing love and power! Sylvia and I
were just married Sept 6 and were ministering together for the first time as
Husband and Wife in prophetic and healing prayer ministry. What a tremendous
confirmation of God's heart and plan for us and our lives together!
Please keep us in prayer as we
move on to North Carolina today, where I'll be leading a men's retreat in the
mountains at Bravard, NC later this week. God bless you!
Please come join us in Lexington
