Morning by Morning, September 11 - "Repairer of the Breach"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I remember the pain and terror my country endured on this day of September 11, twelve years ago, I also remember You and the pain and terror You endured for all of us. You are well-acquainted with suffering and grief, torture and terror, yet You endured and overcame for the joy that was set before You in the eternal peace You've prepared for us (Hebrews 12:1-2). From that place, lead my spirit in prayer this morning.  ...

"The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like spring of water, whose waters never fail. Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in" (Isaiah 58:11-12).

Lord of all creation, Lord of every nation, give us a heart as a people that's humble before You -- calling upon Your name, seeking Your help, willingly choosing to be desperately dependent upon You alone as our Salvation. Forgive us for every measure of self-centered independence from You, for defiance from Your will and ways and authority over our lives, for arrogance to believe we can build our fortunes and destinies in our own image as a declaration and monument to our own power.

Renew us with a right Spirit, that we may rebuild the ruins of our lives with a right heart (Isaiah 58:6-10). Let us "take delight in the Lord" (v. 58:14). Then "(our) light shall rise in the darkness and (our) gloom be like the noonday" (v. 58:10). Then "(our) light shall break forth like the dawn and (our) healing shall spring up quickly; (our) vindication shall go before (us), the glory of the Lord shall be (our) rear guard. The (we) shall call, and the Lord will answer; (we) shall cry for help, and He will say, Here I Am" (v. 58:8-9).

By the power of Your grace, in the faithfulness of Your steadfast love and tender mercies, may we be a people freed from "pride and arrogance of heart," not rebuilding in our wisdom, not seeking rebirth in the spirit of this world, but by the Spirit of our God (Isaiah 9:8-10). Let Your Spirit be upon us that we may "be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord to display His glory. (Then in the power of Your Spirit alone, we) shall build up the ancient ruins, (we) shall raise up the former devastations; (we) shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations" (Isaiah 61:1-4). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

My Friend,  I join with you in prayer for the continued healing of our nation and that our rebirth and rebuilding may be by the Spirit of the Lord in humility and faith before our God. I pray you would be a repairer of the breach by the power of our God in all your spheres of influence.  Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

I look forward to getting up early and writing these morning prayers from my morning prayer time each day and then sharing them with you. Thank you for joining with me in this journey of prayer that's continued for many years now. I will be away in the mountains of North Carolina for several days with probably very limited access to the internet. So I may not be sending out my prayers for a few days. I do pray for your deep intimacy in prayer with the Lord and please pray that for me. God bless you!

Please keep me and our ministry in prayer as I go out on the road several times for engagements this coming month in our ministry of "Healing from the Inside Out" to help prepare the Body and Bride of Christ for the coming of our King:

We can forward her itinerary to you if you'd like to join her and receive from the Lord through her gift of prophetic singing and the word the Lord has given her for this visit. I'm excited to be joining her for ministry in Virginia. Please keep us in prayer and come join us if you can!
