Morning by Morning, June 25 - Exalting the Name of Jesus to the Glory of the Father
Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of kings and Lord of lords, come rule and reign in my heart and my life today. ...
“Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
God the Father is glorified when I bow my knees and confess as Lord God the Son -- “that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.” God the Father is glorified when I exalt Your name in my heart and exalt Your name “above every name” and everything in my life on this earth.
As Your Word says, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” -- only through the name of Jesus, God the Son (Acts 4:12). And when You declared this Word through the Apostle Peter on the day of Pentecost, Peter was “filled with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 4:8). For it’s God the Holy Spirit who stirs in our hearts with a passion for Jesus to glorify our Father when we bow our knees in humility and confess His name with “boldness” (Acts 4:31).
“If (we) confess with (our) mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in (our) heart that God raised Him from the dead, (we) will be saved” (Romans 10:9). So “whatever (we) do in word or deed, (we) do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father” (Colossians 3:17). We have one and only one “Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). “He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful” (Revelation 17:14).
These timeless Words are ever-faithful and ever-true of Your terms for our salvation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God” (John 3:16-18).
Come, Holy Spirit. Fill my heart with a passion for Jesus and draw me into a deeper personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, more deeply every day, to the glory of God my Father. By Your Presence, moving in my heart, I’m “giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified (me) to share in the inheritance of the saints in the Light. He has delivered (me) from the domain of darkness and transferred (me) to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom (I) have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities -- all things were created through Him and for Him.... For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the Blood of His Cross” (Colossians 1:12-20) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
