High and Lifted Up in Our Hearts - April 28, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, April 28 - High and Lifted Up in Our Hearts   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up, here in my heart and throughout my world. ...    “‘And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.’ He said this to indicate the kind of death He was to die” (John 12:32-33).   Lord Jesus, You’ve drawn me to You through Your death on the cross for my sins and Your resurrection from the tomb for my life. Because You died, I’m forgiven; because You live, I am free. And who the Son sets free is free indeed! (John 8:36)   So be high and lifted up in my heart today. Be high and lifted up in my thoughts today. Be high and lifted up in my choices, my actions, my priorities today.   Give me grace to live out this day “looking to Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2), looking to the One who is high and lifted up, ruling and reigning over all I am and all I’ll become, all I’ll encounter and all I’ll overcome -- all by the power of Your grace at work within me by Your Spirit, lifting my eyes to You, lifting my heart to You.   “For thus says the High and Lofty One     who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place,     and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble,     and to revive the heart of the contrite” (Isaiah 57:15).   Isaiah said, “I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple” as the angels cried, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord!” (Isaiah 6:1-3).   Holy One, High and Lofty One, the One who is high and lifted up in my heart and my day, revive my spirit, revive my heart. Come fill the temple of my heart with the glory of Your Manifest Presence. Awaken Your revival in me as I look up to You and cry out to You, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord!” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
