Morning by Morning, April 6 - Prepare to Pass Over
Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of kings and Lord of lords, You’re King of my heart and Lord of my life. Come rule and reign in every moment of my day. ...
“After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying, ‘My servant Moses is dead. Now proceed to cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the Israelites. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, as I promised to Moses.... Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, ‘Pass through the camp, and command the people: ‘Prepare your provisions; for in three days you are to cross over the Jordan, to go in to take possession of the land that the Lord your God gives you to possess’” (Joshua 1:1-11).
Just as You moved in the hearts of Your people to prepare to pass over into the Promised Land, so You’re moving in our hearts today to prepare to pass over into Your promises for each of us.
You told them, “Prepare your provisions” (v.11). What are our “provisions” to be prepared, Lord? ...
As I watch and wait for Your leading, what comes to my heart is this:
“Make provision for Me. For I am your Provision. I am all you need. Apart from Me, you can do nothing. But in Me, you have all you need. Deepen your relationship with Me. Make room for more of My Spirit as you surrender more room in your heart to Me. This is the Provision you need. This is the Provision I am more than willing to provide.” ...
Yes, Lord. What comes to mind, in confirmation of what You’re speaking to my heart is this Word from Your Scripture:
“My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NKJV).
And this:
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that, according to the riches of His glory, He may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through His Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who by the Power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:14-21).
Yes, Lord. You’re the Provision I need to pass over into every promise You have for me. You’re all I need. You fill me with Your Spirit, that I “may be filled with all the fullness of God” (v. 19). To God be the glory! -- here in me, here in Your church, here in Your people, here in our generation and to all generations, as You “accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine” (v. 20), “exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the Power that works in us” (NKJV). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
