Morning by Morning, October 5 - The Lame and the Lost Shall Leap for Joy! Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill my heart with Your love, my mind with Your thoughts, and my mouth with Your words, as You make me more like You today (Romans 8:29). ... “Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are of a fearful heart, ‘Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God. He will come with vengeance, with terrible recompense. He will come and save you.’ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be opened; then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the speechless sing for joy. For waters shall break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert” (Isaiah 35:3-6). You’re the One who strengthens us when we are weak and feeble. You’re the One who encourages us when we are weary and fearful. You come and You save us. You come and You heal us and free us. You come and You fill us with praise and joy! Then our eyes are open to see Your Presence in our midst and our ears are open to hear Your voice in our hearts. Then we leap like a deer and dance with all our might, as Your Living Waters flow streaming out of our hearts to bring Your Life to all You touch through our lives in You. “And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away!” (v. 10) There’s no sorrow and sighing in You. There’s joy and gladness, healing and freedom, salvation and singing, as we embrace Your Presence no matter what we’ve been through and no matter what we’re going through. “Here is (our) God!” -- God with us! (v. 4) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
