Morning by Morning, January 31 - Returning with Joy from Ministry in Mexico! Good morning, Lord Jesus. I wait for You and listen for Your leading -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... “The seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, in Your name even the demons submit to us!’ He said to them, ‘I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.’ At that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit...” (Luke 10:17-21). We returned in joy last night, rejoicing in the Holy Spirit, from our two weeks of ministry in central Mexico. My wife Rocio (pronounced Roe-See-Oh for all who are always asking, which means “the due of the morning” in Spanish from Psalm 110:3 in the Spanish Bible), translated every word as we were preaching, teaching, praying, and ministering in many different settings and communities along the way. You filled our hearts and our mouths with love and words of spirit and life and truth, with salvation and healing and deliverance, for Your people everywhere You sent us. And we praise God for every moment of the moving of Your Holy Spirit, every soul that was saved, and every life that was changed -- by the power of Your grace and for the glory of Your name! In Morelia, Patzcuaro, Zihuantanejo, Playa del Troncones, Coacoyul, Ixtapa, at the Morelia House of Prayer, at many churches, at a city auditorium, in the marketplace, at an open-air beachside restaurant palapa, and even at a city square, rooftop, sunset wedding, we shared the love of God and the power of the name of Jesus. We thank You and praise You for all who covered us in prayer, funded us in mission, joined us in ministry -- especially including Pastor Fernando Tovar and family who hosted us and our Texas team of Macy, Todd, and Debbie who ministered alongside us. Our hearts soared to welcome 10 souls to be saved one night the first weekend at our outdoor beach meeting in Troncones and 20 souls to be saved at the Sunday Morning Church Service in Morelia -- with so many sharing of hearts set free and set ablaze all in between. Praise God! We thank You for new doors to the heart of Mexico that continue to open every time You send us to share the Good News of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God with Your love and power. And we were thrilled and honored to be invited to meet with an apostolic leader regarded as a spiritual father to many and a pioneer of revival in the nation who was affirming of the Father Heart of God flowing through us for the people of this nation. At home again this morning, as we rest up a little today before teaching my class tonight in Fredericksburg and sharing some amazing stories of the love and mercy and power of God on our trip, I just want to repeat and declare the words of the apostle Paul for all who prayed for him and covered him in his ministry of the love of Christ: “I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the Gospel from the first day until now!” (Philippians 1:3-5) In Jesus’ name I pray.
