Morning by Morning, January 17 - Word of Life, Shining like Light

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be Lord of my life and every moment of my day. ...

“Do all things without murmuring and arguing, so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world, holding forth the word of life...” (Philippians 2:14-16).

Lord, let Your Word of Life shine through me today. You are the Word (John 1:1, 14). You are the Life (John 14:6). Your words “are spirit, and they have life” (John 6:63). And Your very Spirit now lives in me and every one of Your children of God (John 14:17).

Your Spirit carries Your Light, for You are “the Light of the world” (John 8:12). And with Your Spirit in us, You said we are now also “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).

So shine in me, shine in us, with Your Light and Life, with Your Word of Life, by Your Spirit shining through me, shining through us this day. That’s one of the ways we are overcomers in Christ, for “The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it!” (John 1:5) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
