Morning by Morning, June 10 - Isaiah 63:9 for My 63rd Year Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me begin my day deliberately embracing Your Presence--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... On this day, my sixty-third birthday, as has become my tradition for each year, I’m turning the 63rd Chapter of the Book of Isaiah. And the verse that speaks to my spirit most directly today is Verse 9: “In all their distress He was distressed, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old” (Isaiah 63:9 NASB). Thank You, Lord. Whenever I’ve been distressed, You have been with me in my distress. Just as whenever I’ve been worried or anxious or afraid, whenever I’ve be discouraged or discontent or distracted, whenever I’ve been joyful or peaceful or kind, You have been with me. For You are with me “always” (Matthew 28:20). “The Angel of (Your) Presence never leaves me nor forsakes me, but always abides with me and even within me by Your Spirit (Hebrews 13:5; John 15:4; Colossians 1:27). In all “(Your) love and (Your) mercy” for me, You have “redeemed” me. In all my sins and failures, You have forgiven me and cleansed me. In all my moments of questions or doubts, You have encouraged me and empowered me. In all my challenges and struggles, You have reminded me who I am in You and more importantly, who You are in me--secure in my identity to fulfill my destiny of every word You’ve written in Your book of life for me (Psalm 139:16; Revelation 20:15). You’ve always lifted me and embraced me in Your everlasting love for me. You always “make known to me the way of life (where) in Your Presence is fullness of joy!” (Psalm 16:11) And You will always inspire me and empower me to live into the fullness of all You’ve created me to be and anointed me to do through “all the days of old” -- here at 63 years old and every year to come (Isaiah 63:9). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
