Morning by Morning, June 19 - “My Hiding Place” and “Shelter” Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of kings and Lord of lords, come rule and reign in my life today (Revelation 19:16). ... “You are my Hiding Place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance” (Psalm 32:7). The little mountain Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico where my family lives has been evacuated down through the valley to Roswell, New Mexico to shelter as they wait and pray through the threat of these fires on the edge of their town. The mountains of the Mescalero Apache tribe next to the village are already ablaze. Lord, be with them all. I join in prayer for all who are afraid or fleeing the ravages of this destruction. You be their Hiding Place. You be their Shelter and Secret Place. And You be a Barrier between the fires and the village, I pray. You be with those who have already experienced destruction. Be with all who are battling these blazes on the front lines of this fury. May every heart turn to You: “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God, in whom I trust’” (Psalm 91:2). I pray the same for everyone who’s going through their own battles and facing their own fires of fear, anxiety, worry, distress or destruction through these challenging times of our world. May we all continue to hold fast to the Promises of Your Word for Your people back in the days of the Prophet Isaiah, Your people today, and for all who would call on Your name: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine” (Isaiah 43:1). “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior” (v. 2-3). “Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you.... Fear not, for I am with you” (v. 4-5). Let us all know Your Presence and Your Promise, that You are with us through it all and You will get us through it all as we turn to You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
