Morning by Morning, October 5, 2026 — The Feast of Tabernacles: Now Celebrating the Presence of God in Our Hearts Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. … On the cycles of the biblical calendar, we’ve just passed through the season of the Feast of Tabernacles—now fulfilled in Jesus Christ—along with all the feasts and prophecies of the Word of God (Matthew 5:17). As with all the other feasts of the Old Covenant, they all point to You and are ultimately fulfilled in You. They all “testify of (You)” (John 5:39). This feast is no different: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (literally, “tabernacled” among us), and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). This Feast of Tabernacles was set forth as one of the “appointed festivals of the Lord,” to be celebrated as “a statute forever in your generations” in the prophetic feasts of Leviticus 23. These times of feasting were lived out by Israel in the natural realm of the Old Covenant in the Law, pointing prophetically to their fulfillment in Christ and our New Covenant life in You. By Your grace, we who put our faith in Christ have been grafted in to share in Your eternal purposes and promises. “God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew,” but You’ve extended Your invitation of mercy and grace to us all (Romans 11:1-2, 17-24). These things were “a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ” (Colossians 2:17). As You commanded Your people: “You shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.... You shall dwell in booths for seven days.... that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God” (Leviticus 23:40, 42-43). The days of the feast have passed, but Your Presence never passes away. Come “tabernacle among us,” Lord Jesus. Come fill the “tabernacle” of our hearts with Your Spirit. Come pour out Your Holy Fire on the offerings of our hearts. Not just a few days of the calendar year but every day. Not just at a certain place in the earth but in every place of our hearts throughout the earth. May we offer to You our bodies as “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God” as our spiritual act of worship (Romans 12:1). We celebrate the Feast of Your Presence tabernacling with us, even within us, now and always (Matthew 28:20; Romans 8:9). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged this day.
