Morning by Morning, August 26, 2026 — “The Light of the World”

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Light of the world, come light up my heart, as I begin my day in the communion of prayer with You. …

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5).

You are still in the world. You are still here in my world, here in my heart. Right here. Right now. Every moment of every day. Just like You said, You are with me always (Matthew 28:20).

As I rise up from my prayer chair and go out into my day, remind me of Your constant presence. Remind me that Your light is shining in me, shining through me. Your light is pushing back the darkness all around me.

Everywhere I go; everyone I meet; everything I encounter. And whatever darkness I encounter—whether in a place, a person, or a situation—that darkness cannot overcome the light (John 1:5). For You are that light! And it’s Your light that arises and shines in me.

Every day, You’re fulfilling more and more of the unfolding promise of Your prophetic Word:

“Arise, shine;

For your light has come!

And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,

And deep darkness the people;

But the Lord will arise over you,

And His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1-2).

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
