Celebration of Joy on the Last Day of the Feast of Tabernacles - October 6, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, October 6 - Celebration of Joy on the Last Day of the Feast of Tabernacles   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Looking to You, I begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...   “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.   “Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, ‘Truly this is the Prophet.’ Others said, ‘This is the Christ!’” (Luke 7:37-40).   Those Words that You spoke on the last day of the feast were spoken during the Feast of Tabernacles. On the rhythms of the Biblical Calendar, today is now the final day of Feast of Tabernacles--in many ways a feast of joy for the season of harvest. It’s also a time of celebration of joy for the protection and provision of God for the Israelites, as they traveled through the wilderness in their tabernacles of tents desperately dependent upon God alone (Leviticus 23:39-43). A time to “rejoice before the Lord” as we remember what God has done and look forward with expectant faith for all God will do! (v.40)   Those Words You spoke were also a fulfillment of the words of the Prophet Isaiah, declaring the joy of our salvation through the coming of the Messiah, the One who is the Living Water of God! Though it’s a long Scripture, I sense Your pleasure that I would declare Your Word in the anointing of Your Spirit over my life and out into the spiritual atmosphere of my home and community this morning on this significant spiritual day:   “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, ​​Come to the waters; ​​And you who have no money, ​​Come, buy and eat. ​​Yes, come, buy wine and milk ​​Without money and without price. 2 ​​Why do you spend money for what is not bread, ​​And your wages for what does not satisfy? ​​Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, ​​And let your soul delight itself in abundance. 3 ​​Incline your ear, and come to Me. ​​Hear, and your soul shall live; ​​And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— ​​The sure mercies of David. 4 ​​Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, ​​A leader and commander for the people. 5 ​​Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, ​​And nations who do not know you shall run to you, ​​Because of the LORD your God, ​​And the Holy One of Israel; ​​For He has glorified you.” ​ 6 ​​Seek the LORD while He may be found, ​​Call upon Him while He is near. 7 ​​Let the wicked forsake his way, ​​And the unrighteous man his thoughts; ​​Let him return to the LORD, ​​And He will have mercy on him; ​​And to our God, ​​For He will abundantly pardon. ​ 8 ​​“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, ​​Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. 9 ​​“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, ​​So are My ways higher than your ways, ​​And My thoughts than your thoughts. ​ 10 ​​“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, ​​And do not return there, ​​But water the earth, ​​And make it bring forth and bud, ​​That it may give seed to the sower ​​And bread to the eater, 11 ​​So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; ​​It shall not return to Me void, ​​But it shall accomplish what I please, ​​And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. ​ 12 ​​“For you shall go out with joy, ​​And be led out with peace; ​​The mountains and the hills ​​Shall break forth into singing before you, ​​And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 ​​Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, ​​And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; ​​And it shall be to the LORD for a name, ​​For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off” (Isaiah 55:1-13).   Yes, Lord! On this day and every day, fill our hearts with joy, as we celebrate all You have done and look forward to all You will do until the joy of the day of the Final Harvest to come! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. “Looking Unto Jesus,” Let the Kingdom Come! - October 5, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, October 5 - “Looking Unto Jesus,” Let the Kingdom Come!   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Looking to You, I’m listening to follow Your leading. ...   “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).   Cheered on by those who have gone before us in our faith, let us take up their mantles, let us stand on their shoulders, let us honor their legacies, as we now run our race in our generation toward the finish line of “the times of restoration of all things” (Hebrews 11:1-40; Acts 3:21). As we continue to pray, continue to worship, continue to war against the kingdoms of darkness and the kingdoms of this world, all by the power of Your grace and moving of Your Spirit, we will see Your Kingdom come and Your will be done, as Your Kingdom keeps breaking into our world, “on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).   We’re to run this race of faith so as to win the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24). And You are our Prize! That’s why we run our race with our eyes on You--“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith!” (Hebrews 12:2)   So give us the grace to keep laying aside every weight that would weigh us down and every sin that would trip us up (Hebrews 12:1). Stir in our spirits to get up and move! To run for the Prize and win!   We win when allow You to make us like You. For as we run this race of faith, You use everything we endure and overcome to make us more like You. To be conformed into the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). To be transformed in the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). To be changed into Your image from glory to glory as we look to You and behold Your glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). For as You are, so are we to become (1 John 4:17). “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2). “Now we do not yet see all things put under Him. But we do see Jesus!” (Hebrews 2:8-9)   Let us keep looking to You, Jesus. Let us keep seeing You, Jesus. And may one day soon, may we see You coming in the clouds of Your glory! (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18) Like a Groom coming for His bride! (Ephesians 5:25-27; Isaiah 62:5; Revelation 19:7) Like a soon and coming King coming to rule and reign in all the authority of His domain as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! (Revelation 19:16) Like the full manifestation of the Promise of Your Word when our race is run and Your Words are fulfilled--“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15)   Yes, Lord! As we keep running our race, looking to You, laying aside the weights and the sins and everything that’s anything less than Your character in our lives, let Your Kingdom come! Let Your will be done! Here on earth. Here in our world. Here in Your body and Your bride. Here in me and everyone running this race of faith. Right here. Right now. And forevermore! In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, October 4 - Come Fill Us and Overflow Through Us in New Wine Worship   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my heart in worship and open up my spirit in prayer, drawing near to You as You draw near to me (James 4:8). ...   “When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying:   “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 7:1-3).   The temple of Solomon in Jerusalem was patterned from the plans You gave David in the Spirit (1 Chronicles 28:12). In the same way, the tabernacle of Moses in the wilderness was patterned from the plans You gave him in the Spirit (Exodus 25:19). And when the tabernacle was erected and the temple was dedicated, Your glory came and filled each place set apart for You as a holy place to encounter the Presence of the Living God (Exodus 40:34; 2 Chronicles 7:2).   These earthly places were patterns of Your “true tabernacle” forever established “in the heavens, built by the hand of God and not by any man (Hebrews 8:1). And now in the Spirit, all who are in Christ, can encounter Your Living Presence here in our hearts, set apart as holy unto You through the Blood of Jesus, as the glory of Your Holy Spirit comes and fills the temple of our hearts.   For “(our) body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in (us), whom (we) have from God” (1 Corinthians 6:19). In Christ, “we are the temple of the Living God. As God said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (2 Corinthians 6:16).   As we worship You “in spirit and truth”--wherever we are, whenever we set apart our hearts for You--Your glory fills our temple as Your Spirit fill our hearts (John 4:24). Our hearts are Your altar; our bodies are Your temple; our worship and prayer are Your tabernacle of meeting; as we encounter the Presence of the Living God.   Tonight our ministry is launching a monthly gathering for worship and prayer at a venue in our community, open to all, to come and encounter the Presence of the Living God. May Your Holy Fire fall! May Your Holy Spirit come! We believe You’ve led us to call this “New Wine Worship” on these nights set apart to encounter You with hearts thirsting to drink deeply from the well of Your Living Water (John 4:10) and from a “new wineskin” of the “New Wine” of Your Holy Spirit (Mark 2:22).   Come, Holy Spirit! Come fill Your temple and tabernacle of Your people--filled us up in worship and overflowing into our community--with the Presence and love and power of the God of Revival! (Ephesians 5:18) Come and dwell among us, abide within us, for You are our God and we are Your people--set apart and thirsty for You! “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come...!” (Isaiah 55:1) In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. Be encouraged today. “Awaken. Arise. Ascend. Advance.” - October 2, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, October 2 - “Awaken. Arise. Ascend. Advance.”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are the Word of God (John 1:14). Now let Your Word saturate my soul, as I wait for the leading of Your Spirit (Romans 8:14). ...   As I listen, I hear these words rising up from my heart and into my mind:   “Awaken. Arise. Ascend. Advance.”   You awaken me from my rest into another day of the adventure of faith (Isaiah 50:4). You already know all I’ll go through, because You know the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end (Isaiah 46:10). And at the same, every choice I’ll make is mine to make—whether by the leading of Your Spirit or by giving in to the leading of my flesh (John 7:17).   You move in my spirit to arise into the newness of life in Your Spirit (Romans 6:4). I lift up my eyes to hills, where my help comes from (Psalm 121:1). By Your grace and fulfillment of Your Word, I arise and shine, for my Light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon me and every one of Your children (Isaiah 60:1). We arise and shine like stars in the heavens despite the increasing darkness of the world around us (Philippians 2:15).   You motivate my mind to set my mind on things above, seeking those things which are above, as I ascend into the heavenly realm, where I am raised up with Christ (Colossians 3:1). You lift up my spirit, actually confirming in my spirit that I have already been lifted up in You, having already arisen into the heavenly realm of Your Presence where I’m already seated with You and You in me, from the moment I received You into my heart as Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:4-7).   You empower me to advance the Kingdom of God here on earth, as it is in heaven, as You advance Your Kingdom in me (Matthew 6:10). For the Kingdom of God is within me and every one of us who have welcomed Your Kingdom to come and Your will to be done in us (Luke 17:21). Your Kingdom within us is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, as we allow our spirit to abide in constant communion with Your Spirit, allowing You to form our sense of conscience and intuition to follow Your leading (Romans 14:17). For the children of God are those who are led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). And as we advance in Your Kingdom and Your Kingdom advances through us, nothing can stop it (Matthew 16:18-19; Mark 9:23).   So by the power of Your grace, I choose this day to serve You (Joshua 24:15), to follow You (Luke 9:23), to live my life for You as You live Your life through me (Colossians 3:3-4). My life is no longer my own, for I have entrusted my life to You, so that the life I now live this day and every day, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loves me and willingly, lovingly, unimaginably gave Yourself for me (Galatians 2:20). In the Spirit, grounded in these Words of Spirit and Life and Truth, I awaken, arise, ascend, and advance into all You have for me this day--as best as I can and all by Your grace.
