Morning by Morning, April 29 - “I Know My Redeemer Lives!”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I wait and watch for Your leading by “the Spirit of Christ” abiding in me (Romans 8:9). ...
“O that my words were written down!
O that they were inscribed in a book!
O that with an iron pen and with lead
they were engraved on a rock forever!
For I know my Redeemer lives,
and that at the last He will stand upon the earth! ...” (Job 19:23-25).
Yes, Lord. Your Spirit has sealed this truth in my heart -- “I know my Redeemer lives!”
You redeem all things to work together for good for those who love You and who are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). And I do love You. And I am called according to Your purpose.
So You take my sins and redeem them with Your Blood. You take my regrets and redeem them to rejoicing. You take my shame and redeem it to praise. You take all that is evil and dark and full of death and redeem it to good and light and the abundance of life, so that none of that has the final say, but You alone have the last word over all (Genesis 50:20; John 10:10).
You give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness, so that we may be oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display Your glory through our lives (Isaiah 61:3).
My Savior, my Redeemer, one day, at last, You will stand again upon the earth (Job 19:24) One day, at last, the trumpet will sound, the clouds will part, and You will descend so that “we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with (those who have died in the Lord) to meet (You) in the air!” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) And one day, at last, in the word of the prophet Zechariah, You will stand again on the earth, when “(Your) feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives, which lies before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley; so that one half of the Mount shall withdraw northward, and the other half southward.... Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him!” (Zechariah 14:4-5)
You will have the last say. You will have the final word. And Your word for us, Your word for me, through it all is, “Peace” -- the Shalom of God. Just as You promised long ago, You continue to fulfill every day: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33 NKJV)
You have overcome the world through the victory of Your cross and the glory of Your resurrection. And now we overcome in You, as You continue to overcome in us, as You continue to redeem all things in us.
I trust You and I praise You, through whatever encounter I endure on my journey through this broken and fallen world that You’ve chosen and destined to redeem, because “I know my Redeemer lives!” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
