“I Am With You, My Beloved Son.” - April 16, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, April 16 - “I Am With You, My Beloved Son.”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. All I am, all I have, I give to You, my All in All (1 Corinthians 15;28). ...   As I wait and watch for Your leading this morning, pressing into Your Presence, what comes into my heart and up to my mind are these gentle, reassuring words:   “I am with you, My beloved son.” ...   In Your words, I hear so much. ...   “I am with you.” ...   You are “I AM” (Exodus 3:14). And You are with me. You’re “always” with me wherever I am, “even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). You’ll never leave me nor forsake me, never abandon me nor leave me alone nor hanging out to dry in isolation from Your Presence (Hebrews 13:5).   “My beloved son.” ...   I am Yours and You are mine (Song of Songs 2:16). I belong to You and I am Your son, a son of God, a child of God, for You are my Father. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” (Romans 8:16).   And I’m not only Your son, but a “beloved” son, Your greatly loved son. You love me; You’re for me. “To the praise of the glory of (Your) grace, by which (You) made us accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6). You love me “with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). You call me by name and I am Yours (Isaiah 43:1). You love me and honor and have given so much for me, ever reminding me that You are forever with me, declaring over me “I AM the Lord your God” (Isaiah 43:4-5).   Not only me, but as You have said, “Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed (you), yes, I have made (you)” (Isaiah 43:7). “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. That is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him” (1 John 3:1).   So it’s not prideful or delusional to receive and accept and embrace Your word for me this morning. It’s simply the Truth, according to Your Word. I am Your beloved son. And You are with me.   Thank You, my Beloved Father. You are the Lord, my God--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You are my Beloved and I am Yours (Song of Songs 2:16).   Let that Truth of Your Word You’ve sown into my spirit this morning never leave me and never fail me--not now nor through the moments of my day, nor through the days of my life, no matter what challenges lie ahead or battles I’ll face, or trials I’ll have to endure and be empowered to overcome. The Truth will always remain: I am Your beloved son. And You are with me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. “Wall of Fire” Around Jerusalem and Around Us - April 15, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, April 15 - “Wall of Fire” Around Jerusalem and Around Us   Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are my Rock and Refuge, the One who’s always with me and never fails. ...   As our world is stunned and reeling after witnessing waves of missiles and attack drones launched against Israel directly from Iran, this Word of Yours comes to mind this morning:   “‘For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around (Jerusalem), and I will be the glory in her midst’” (Zechariah 2:5).   The weapons Israel deployed for her defense -- the Iron Dome, the David’s Sling, along with all her ariel defense systems joined by nations of the world coming to her defense -- were the physical means of Your supernatural protection. This time, almost every projectile fell to the ground after being shot down from the skies before ever reaching its target of inflicting destruction and terror.   So in these unprecedented times we’ve never seen before at this level of engagement, I’m stirred by Your command to “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6). “I will now say, ‘Peace be within you” (v. 8).   Lord, You are her “Wall of Fire” around her. You are her “Glory” within her. May the hearts of her people be drawn near to You to embrace You as Lord and Savior, Messiah and King, causing even these violent actions intended for her destruction to turn her heart to her Salvation. May the minds of her leaders be drawn to You for Your wisdom, discernment, and determination.   And for all that’s under attack in our own lives--whether from physical sources or spiritual sources--You be our “Wall of Fire” around us and our “Glory” within us. You keep giving us courage and faith, wisdom and discernment and determination, to keep believing Your Truth and standing on the Promise of Your Word:   “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17).   In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. “It Is Good to Be Near God” - April 11, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, April 11 - “It Is Good to Be Near God”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit and give me Your perspective, as I draw near to You first thing this morning and then go about my day. ...   “Yet I am always with you;     You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel,     and afterward You will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but You?     And earth has nothing I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail,     but God is the strength of my heart     and my portion forever. Those who are far from You will perish;     You destroy all who are unfaithful to You. But as for me, it is good to be near God.     I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;     I will tell of all Your deeds” (Psalm 73:23-28).   When I come into Your Presence, You give me Your perspective. When I draw near to You, You draw near to me. When I make You my refuge, You strengthen my heart and lift up my faith. You put Your thoughts in my mind and Your desires in my heart. You guide me with Your counsel. You remind me You’re always with me and that I am always with You.   “As for me, it is good to be near God.”   Thank You for the invitation and the gift to draw near to You. This could never be possible without the sacrifice of Your love and the pouring out of Your blood, that any veil between us could be torn away and every sin of mine between us could be washed away.   So I will not despise my gift or squander my inheritance. Morning by Morning, moment by moment--step by step on my spiritual journey with You through all the troubles and challenges of this world--I will draw near to You and remember that You are always here with me. And with a full heart and a clear mind from the perspective of being in Your Presence, “I will tell of all Your deeds.”   “As for me, it is good to be near God.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. “I Have Seen the Lord!” - April 10, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, April 10 - “I Have Seen the Lord!”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my face and open up my heart to seek You in the morning and abide in You throughout the moments of my day. ...   “Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: ‘I have seen the Lord!’ And she told them that He had said these things to her” (John 20:18)   Some have a testimony that they’ve always been so close to Jesus and hardly ever committed any sins. I think my testimony is a little more like Mary Magdalene--“out of whom (Jesus) had driven seven demons” (Mark 16:9). Demons of pride, vainglory, self-righteousness, insecurity, fear, impurity, criticism can be just as wicked and destructive as any others.   But Mary Magdalene--with all her former issues, with all her former spiritual and emotional baggage from her former identity--got to be the first to see the resurrected Jesus! And she couldn’t wait to run and tell everybody else all the good news!   Like Mary, now we can seek You and see You, pursue You and run in our hearts to go share the good news of who You are and all You have done. No matter our past, no matter our struggles for identity, no matter our spiritual battles, in Your resurrection power You can set us free from all that would hold us back from being all You created us to be!   We can see You move in power in our lives. Then we can go tell everybody, “I have seen the Lord!” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
