Morning by Morning, April 11 - “It Is Good to Be Near God” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit and give me Your perspective, as I draw near to You first thing this morning and then go about my day. ... “Yet I am always with you; You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Those who are far from You will perish; You destroy all who are unfaithful to You. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all Your deeds” (Psalm 73:23-28). When I come into Your Presence, You give me Your perspective. When I draw near to You, You draw near to me. When I make You my refuge, You strengthen my heart and lift up my faith. You put Your thoughts in my mind and Your desires in my heart. You guide me with Your counsel. You remind me You’re always with me and that I am always with You. “As for me, it is good to be near God.” Thank You for the invitation and the gift to draw near to You. This could never be possible without the sacrifice of Your love and the pouring out of Your blood, that any veil between us could be torn away and every sin of mine between us could be washed away. So I will not despise my gift or squander my inheritance. Morning by Morning, moment by moment--step by step on my spiritual journey with You through all the troubles and challenges of this world--I will draw near to You and remember that You are always here with me. And with a full heart and a clear mind from the perspective of being in Your Presence, “I will tell of all Your deeds.” “As for me, it is good to be near God.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
