Morning by Morning, August 27, 2026 — “Fullness of Life”

 

Morning by Morning, August 27, 2026 — “Fullness of Life” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Take me by the heart and lead me by Your Spirit into all You have for me today, for the sons and daughters of God are led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). … As I wait, I hear in my heart: “Fullness of life.” … And these Words of Scripture now come to mind: “To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19). There it is. “Fullness of life” is a life filled with the Presence of God, “filled with all the fullness of God.” Fill me up afresh today, Lord. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). Fill me afresh with a deep awareness of Your ever-abiding Presence, here in my heart, here in my thoughts, here in everywhere I go, everything I say, everything I do, everything I experience. Less of me and more of You. My will yielding to Your will. My ways surrendering to Your ways. Filled up and overflowing with Your life, Your words, Your truth, Your power, Your love. With “all the fullness of God” that I can experience every day the “fullness of life” You have for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged this day. Morning by Morning, August 26, 2026 — “The Light of the World” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Light of the world, come light up my heart, as I begin my day in the communion of prayer with You. … “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5). You are still in the world. You are still here in my world, here in my heart. Right here. Right now. Every moment of every day. Just like You said, You are with me always (Matthew 28:20). As I rise up from my prayer chair and go out into my day, remind me of Your constant presence. Remind me that Your light is shining in me, shining through me. Your light is pushing back the darkness all around me. Everywhere I go; everyone I meet; everything I encounter. And whatever darkness I encounter—whether in a place, a person, or a situation—that darkness cannot overcome the light (John 1:5). For You are that light! And it’s Your light that arises and shines in me. Every day, You’re fulfilling more and more of the unfolding promise of Your prophetic Word: “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1-2). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Morning by Morning, August 25, 2026 — Invocation Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up, here in heart and throughout the moments of my day. … I’m honored to lead the opening prayer for our County Commissioner’s Court later this morning. In the official agenda, it’s called the “Invocation.” An “invocation” is to literally invoke the presence of a “deity” or “higher power” or “spiritual entity” to provide guidance, help, protection, or whatever is needed or requested. I’ll be invoking You. I’ll be calling upon Your name. I’ll be leading all who are present and willing to turn our hearts to our Father, in the name of Jesus, seeking the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit of the Living God, to lead with wisdom from above, for all the decisions to be made on behalf of the people of our county. And this Word seems right to declare and to pray: “O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). May our leaders do what is right, may they love mercy, may they walk humbly with You, seeking Your wisdom, Your guidance, Your answers to every question for every need. You give Your wisdom freely and liberally to all who humble themselves to ask (James 1:8), to all who humble themselves to invoke Your name and welcome Your Presence in their midst and in their hearts. “When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ My heart said to You, ‘Your face, Lord, I will seek’” (Psalm 27:8). Thank You that we have this freedom to boldly pray in the name of the one true God in the public square, in the marketplaces, at the football games, in elementary schools, and even in county courthouses across this land, according to our Constitution, the law of our land (Kennedy v. Bremerton School District; see Acts 4:18-20). According to the official national motto of our nation, “In God we trust” (see Psalm 56:4). As a county, as a community, as one nation under God, may we seek Your face and call upon Your name. May we do so for every meeting and also for every moment. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged this day. Morning by Morning, August 24, 2026— “I Am Renewing Your Heart”

 

Morning by Morning, August 24, 2026— “I Am Renewing Your Heart” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading. … As I wait, this is what I believe I hear in my heart: “I am renewing your heart, as you keep opening your heart to Me.” … Yes, Lord. Your words this morning remind me of Your Word to Your people long ago: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26). Only You can renew a heart. Only You can renew a right spirit. And at the same time, we have to open our heart to You. In that sense, we have to willingly choose to let Your Spirit move in our spirit to let You form Your Heart in our heart. We can say Yes, or we can say No. We can surrender, or we can resist. We can embrace You and all You have for us, or we just go right on ahead leaning on our own understanding without acknowledging You in all Your ways, satisfied with our hardened heart of stone, instead of the tender heart of flesh You want to form in us. The choice is ours. Just as You spoke to Your people through Ezekiel of the new heart You would give them, You also said through that same Prophet, the choice of was theirs: “Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 18:31). Yes, Lord, I want to “get (myself) a new heart and a new spirit.” And I can’t do it. You have to do it. And You are so willing and able to do it if I will only allow You to do it. It’s not just a one time prayer. Not just a one-time surrender. It’s every day. Every moment of every day. You set before me life or death. A tender heart or a hardened heart. An open heart or a closed heart. A heart that says I’m all Yours or a heart that says I’m just fine. Your mercies “are new every morning”—morning by morning—on my spiritual journey with You (Lamentations 3:23). Yes, I know that the moment I gave my heart to You I became “a new creation” in Christ and “all thing (became) new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This was so that I “might become the righteousness of God in (Christ)” (v. 21). But You never intended for me to stop there, to settle there. But to keep on pursuing You, keep on opening my heart to You, to keep on letting You form and shape my heart and my spirit in Your image. To “grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” (Ephesians 4:15). So, like David, I want to have the heart in me that cries out to You, “Create in me a clean heart, O God. And renew a right spirit within me” (from Psalm 51:10). I want to be one who daily answers Your call, Your invitation, to keep opening my heart to You, as You keep renewing Your heart within me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged this day.
