Seeing You as You are 11-3-06

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for the leading of Your Spirit in the silence of surrender before You. ... "I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents" (Luke 15:10). We rejoiced with Your angels yesterday, Lord! One who had become hardened to You through the hurts of her life cried out to You in a step of repentance and faith. You opened her eyes to see You more clearly as You are. She had been rejecting an image of God that wasn’t God at all. "The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Corinthians 4:4). But as she chose by Your grace to humble herself before You enough to let You shine the light of the glory of Your truth and presence into the dark places of her soul and the dark moments of her past, she began to see You as You truly are. Then she began to see herself more clearly as she truly is -- as You see her. And the angels rejoiced. "For it is God who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 4:6). Who could see You as You truly are and still reject You? Lord, remove the blinders from our minds and heal the hardness of our hearts. This is the work of the devil, but I praise You that "the Son of God was revealed for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). "Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice!" (Psalm 96:7). In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. Be encouraged today!
