Anointed by “the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord” to “Bring Good News!” - September 30, 2021

 

Morning by Morning, September 30 - Anointed by “the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord” to “Bring Good News!” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Put Your thoughts in my mind and Your desires in my heart, as I begin my day looking to You and listening for Your leading. ... As You began Your ministry in that powerful paradigm shift of time between Your baptism in the Jordan and Your crucifixion at Jerusalem, You declared Your mission of ministry from the Scroll of Isaiah, Chapter 61, which was speaking of the coming ministry of the Messiah -- the Son of God, anointed by the Spirit of God to reveal to the world by words and action the Father Heart of God: From the New Living Translation, Isaiah 61 prophecies the words You would embrace as Your own in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 4: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me,     for the Lord has anointed me     to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted     and to proclaim that captives will be released     and prisoners will be freed,  He has sent me to tell those who mourn     that the time of the Lord’s favor has come,      and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel,       he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning,     festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks     that the Lord has planted for his own glory. They will rebuild the ancient ruins,     repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them,     though they have been deserted for many generations. Foreigners will be your servants.     They will feed your flocks and plow your fields     and tend your vineyards. You will be called priests of the Lord,     ministers of our God. You will feed on the treasures of the nations     and boast in their riches. Instead of shame and dishonor,     you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land,     and everlasting joy will be yours” (Isaiah 61:1-7). That Word was fulfilled in You. And in the mystery of faith and the power of grace, today that Word is being fulfilled in us -- for in You, we are “the body of Christ” on earth (1 Corinthians 12:27). Today, in You, we are filled with “the Spirit of Christ” (Romans 8:9). Today, in You, we have “the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). Today, in You, we continue the ministry of Christ, in the power of Christ, through the commission of Christ, as You continue to send us in Your Spirit just as the Father sent You (John 17:18 and 20:21). As You were in the world, so are we to be in our world, as Your body, filled with Your Spirit, continuing Your ministry (1 John 4:17). Give me grace today to do my part today. Not in my power or wisdom or righteousness, because apart from You, I can do nothing that has any value or significance (John 15:5). But I’m never apart from You (Matthew 28:20). You’re right here in me, by Your Spirit abiding in me and my spirit abiding in You (John 15:4). “Christ in (me), the hope of glory” -- Your glory, Your presence, Your power, being manifested here on earth today through me and every one of Your disciples (Colossians 1:27). “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me” for “the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in (me)” (Romans 8:11). So come, Holy Spirit. Anoint me, fill me, empower me today (Ephesians 5:18).  By the power of Your grace, in the anointing of the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord, may You move in the power of Your love through me and every one of Your disciples today “to bring good news to the poor,” “to comfort the brokenhearted,” “to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed,” “to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come!” And may all who hear and receive know that they can become “like great oaks that the Lord has planted for His glory” so that “everlasting joy may be (theirs)!” In Jesus’ name I pray. “Arrayed in Holy Majesty” for the “Day of Battle” - September 28, 2021

 

Morning by Morning, September 28 - “Arrayed in Holy Majesty” for the “Day of Battle” Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I look up to You with the eyes of my heart, help me begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ... “The Lord will extend Your mighty scepter from Zion; You will rule in the midst of Your enemies. Your troops will be willing on Your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn You will receive the dew of Your youth” (Psalm 110:2-3 from an older version of NIV). This is a prophetic, Messianic Psalm written by King David about Jesus. And as the Body and Bride of Christ, it is also about us in this hour, with “the Spirit of Christ” in us (Romans 8:9). This Scripture came to mind to me to me to confirm a prophetic word I believe You were speaking to my spirit during the worship time at the Aglow International Conference in Orlando last weekend. With two faithful men of God, Lance Wallnau and Dutch Sheets, speaking to us in the midst of deep worship and an international gathering of intercessors, the weekend seemed like a truly strategic, significant time for Aglow Ministries and for the Body and Bride of Christ in this hour. My wife, Rocio, and I were so blessed by one of our very generous ministry supporters to be sent to the conference with some dear friends and prayer warriors. As we worshipped Sunday morning, before Dutch Sheets was to speak his final message, I heard a very strong word that I believe was from Your Spirit into my spirit:  “My army will be an army arrayed in the beauty of My holiness and advancing in the power of My holiness” This Scripture came to mind immediately from Your Written Word to confirm this spoken word from Psalm 110: “The Lord will extend Your mighty scepter from Zion; You will rule in the midst of Your enemies. Your troops will be willing on Your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn You will receive the dew of Your youth” (Psalm 110:2-3 from the older NIV). I strongly believe this was a specific word for Aglow, as she moves forward from this time of reset into her next assignment for advancing the Kingdom of God in these last days until the Lord returns. And it’s also a word to the Body and Bride of Christ, for all who You’ve called to press in to all You’re desiring to do through our lives and Your Church in these days. It’s about a calling to deeper holiness in our hearts so we can pray and proclaim the Word of the Lord through prophetic intercession with more power in our words than we’ve ever experienced before. But the holiness of the Lord being more intimately and powerfully manifested in our hearts is a key of the Kingdom of God You’re putting in our hands to unlock mighty gates of Your plans and purposes for this time through Your people (Matthew 16:18-19 and Matthew 18:18-20). This is part of “the beauty of holiness” (Psalm 110:3 KJV). As I process this word, I believe You’re showing me this Scripture is an interpretation of tongues for a word in You gave me in spiritual tongues, during the prayer and worship Friday Night at the Conference (1 Corinthians 14:13; Jude 1:20). Lance Wallnau was speaking about using our “warfare tongues” as the Holy Spirit leads us and releasing the power of the Lord through our words being prayed in the Spirit. The worship leader or Lance said something like “Be free to move around and pray in tongues, and especially praying in your warfare tongues as the Holy Spirit leads.” Among other intercessors beginning to pray, I found myself aggressively pacing back and forth, from of end of the conference hall to the other, several times, on a path all across the front of the gathering between the platform and the first row. Other intercessors were walking and praying with me. I found myself praying very aggressively, as if fighting a battle with my words (the Lord’s words through me). On my last couple of passes in the front of the people, I found myself turning toward the people as I walked and prayed, lifting up my arms, like I was stirring up their spirits. I had the sense of being a general or commanding officer on a horse riding in the front of the troops before a great battle to inspire them and encourage them to arise and be courageous and brave as they charged into battle. I now believe this was a declaration of the heart of Psalm 110 over Aglow International, and others in the Army of the Lord, taking our place in the Body and Bride of Christ as warriors in the Spirit, praying more aggressively, with more authority, charging into the battles before us as the Lord advances His Kingdom through us. And also praying from a place of deeper intimacy and holiness of heart, purified by the Fire of the Lord, than ever before. Lord, throughout the Body and Bride of Christ, stir up our hearts, stir up our spirits in the Army of the Lord to take our place in prayer and intercession in this hour as never before. And at the same time, bring us to a place of deer intimacy and deep holiness of our hearts as never before. Your Kingdom come; Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). Know Jesus More, Not Just Know More About Jesus - September 27, 2021

 

Morning by Morning, September 27 - Know Jesus More, Not Just Know More About Jesus Good morning, Lord Jesus. You said Your sheep hear Your voice and follow You because they know You (John 10:27). Morning by morning, moment by moment, I’m seeking You, listening for You, coming to know You, so I can follow You and be more like You. For this is the core purpose of my journey through this life -- to be conformed into the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). ... As I wait and listen for Your leading this morning, I believe I hear in my heart:  “Most of those in the world don’t want to know Me at all. For wide is the way that leads to destruction and narrow is the way that leads to life. But many among My people who know My name and call themselves by My name seek to know more about Me than seek to truly know Me. Be one who responds to the yearning of My heart to know Me. Pursue Me. Hear Me. Spend time with Me. Allow Me to conform you into My image, as you seek to become one with Me. I will do this in you to the degree you embrace My invitation to allow Me to do this in you.” ... Yes, Lord. What comes to mind from Your Written Word to confirm what I believe I hear by Your spoken word in my spirit is from 2 Corinthians, Chapter 3: “And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18). And this Word from Philippians, Chapter 3: “More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of know Christ Jesus my Lord.... I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the sharing of His sufferings by becoming like Him in His death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal, but I press on to make it my own. Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind” (Philippians 3:8-15). Yes, Lord. By the power of Your grace, by the moving of Your Spirit, at work within me, I embrace Your invitation to press on, to keep pressing in, to come to know You more -- more every day, more every way, morning by morning, moment by moment, on my journey through this life with You. As You are, so am I to be, so am I to become, on my journey through this world, where You use everything to draw me closer to You and make me more like You each day (1 John 4:17). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! “Bless the Lord, O My Soul!” - September 23, 2021

 

Morning by Morning, September 23 - “Bless the Lord, O My Soul!” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Take me by the heart and lead me by Your Spirit into all You have for me today and all You desire to do through me today -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... “Bless the Lord, O my soul,     and all that is within me,     bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul,     and do not forget all His benefits-- who forgives all your iniquity,     who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the Pit,     who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live     so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:1-5). With the heart of David, moved by Your Spirit, I bless You, Lord, with all my soul and all is within me. I love You and I trust You. I remember You and all You’ve done in me and for me. In Your mercy and love, You’ve forgiven me and healed me; You’ve redeemed me and renewed me. You’ve satisfied me with good; and at the same time, You keep moving within me to long for more -- more of You, more of Your Spirit, more of Your love, more of Your nature, more of Your power. You keep filling me with Your Spirit and crowning me with Your life. So I bless You. I honor You. I worship and adore You. And I’m excited for You to come have Your way in me and through me today. With an Unveiled Face, Seeing the Glory of the Lord - September 22, 2021

Morning by Morning, September 22 - With an Unveiled Face, Seeing the Glory of the Lord Good morning, Lord Jesus. Thank You for drawing me near to walk more closely with You on my journey of faith and life in You -- morning by morning, moment by moment, one day at a time. ... “Since, then, we have such a hope, we act with great boldness, not like Moses, who put a veil over his face to keep the people of Israel from gazing at the end of the glory that was being set aside. But their minds were hardened. Indeed, to this very day, when they hear the reading of the old covenant, that same veil is still there, since only in Christ is it set aside. Indeed, to this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds; but when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:12-18). In Christ, the veil is set aside. And “only in Christ is it set aside” (v. 14). And now, there is no veil between us. Now, there is nothing to separate us. Now, I can look up and behold You, “seeing the glory of the Lord” with an “unveiled” face, with an unhindered heart, because You’ve opened the eyes of my heart to see You by Your Spirit (Ephesians 1:18). And as I behold You, as I seek You and see Your glory in worship, in prayer, in the communion of the intimacy of Your Presence, I’m being “transformed into (Your) image” (2 Corinthians 3:18). You’re making me more like You every day, in every moment that I open up and look up to You to behold Your glory. For we become like the One we worship -- “from degree of glory to another” -- “from glory to glory” (v. 18 KJV). Thank You for removing the veil at the Cross, Lord Jesus (Matthew 27:51). Thank You for removing the veil from my heart, Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18). Thank You for removing the veil of all that would ever separate me from the love of God through the Self-less Sacrifice of Your Only Begotten Son, my Heavenly Father (John 3:16). Keep changing me, keep transforming me, keep making me more like You every day, “from glory to glory,” every morning and every moment. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
