Morning by Morning, January 17 - “Attentive” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Put Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your words in my mouth, as I begin my day grounded in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit. ... “I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected” (Habakkuk 2:1). Lord, I’m watching and waiting. I’m taking my position and standing my watch. I’m watching for You, waiting for You. I’m looking for You, listening for You. ... What will I see? What will You say? I “watch to see what (You) will say to me.” ... What comes to my heart this morning is this: “Attentive. I’m training your spirit to be attentive to My Spirit. I train you in the communion of prayer, where your spirit is sensitive to My Spirit that you learn to sense My leading and hear My voice in deeper intimacy and closer awareness of My Presence.” ... Yes, Lord. Teach me. Train me. Correct me and align me. Let my spirit be “attentive” and called to attention, even as a watchman on the rampart, taking my position on the wall to watch and see all that’s around me now and what may be coming in the times to come that You want me to know. Above all, to watch and see You -- as I “Look to (You) and (Your) strength; and seek (Your) face always” (Psalm 105:4). Your Word comes to mind from Your Scripture: “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21). “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14). So I stand my watch in You. I take my position in You. I’m being trained up in You to more and more “attentive” to You -- spirit to Spirit, heart to Heart, deep calling out to Deep (Psalm 42:7). As I draw nearer and nearer to You, You keep drawing nearer and nearer to me in an intimacy and attentiveness I’ve not know before but I’m longing to experience now. Just as You’ve promised in Your Word, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to You” (James 4:8). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

My friend, may you be "attentive" to watch and see the Lord and all He is saying to you, drawing to Him as He draws near to you in deeper intimacy with Him, in Jesus' name. God bless you, my friend! And you have a great day!
