Morning by Morning, January 16 - “Take Your Position” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Clothed in Christ, filled with the Spirit, embraced by my Father, I begin my day pursuing You, here in the conscious awareness of the Presence of God. ... As I wait for Your leading, I hear in my heart: “Take your position.” ... Yes, Lord. ... In Your words I sense, I have a position. And I am to actively take my position. ... What is my “position,” Lord? ... In my heart, I hear, “I AM your Position. As You pursue Me, as You allow Me to abide in you as you abide in Me, you are taking your position. You in Me and I in you, you are prepared for all you will encounter this day -- in your life and in the lives I will touch through your life.” ... Yes, Lord. ... As I test and discern what I believe I’m hearing in my heart as Your words of spirit and life, this Scripture comes to mind to confirm what I hear: “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me” (John 17:20-23). This is my prayer. This is my “position.” In the mystery of faith and the power of Your grace, I take my position in You today. You are my Position. As David said, “You are my Portion and my Inheritance” (Psalm 16:5). You are my “All in all” (1 Corinthians 15:28). As Your Word affirms and invites us to embrace: “There is one body and one Spirit, just as (we) were called in one hope of (our) calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in (us) all” (Ephesians 4:4-6). That’s the position I take, the Position in whom I stand, as I get up now and go out into my day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
