Fresh Fire of a New Year - January 3, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, January 3 - Fresh Fire of a New Year   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Where You go, I will go. Wherever You are is where I want to be. ...   As I wait for Your leading this morning, the words of a friend come to mind, sharing his heart for revival in our land through the Word of God expressed in The Message version:   "What counts is your life. Is it green and blossoming? Because if it's deadwood, it goes on the fire.... The real action comes next: (Jesus) will ignite the kingdom life within you, a fire within you, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out. He's going to clean house -- make a clean sweep of your lives. He'll place everything true in its proper place before God; everything false he'll put out with the trash to be burned." (Matthew 3:7-12 The Message).   As I begin this new year, cut off the deadwood from me. Burn off what’s never going to bloom and blossom for You and Your glory. Set a fire in my spirit that burns with the all-consuming Fire of Your Spirit. I pray for a Fresh Fire of a New Year.   Clean house in my heart until I have clean hands and pure heart to ascend into Your Presence higher than I ever have (Psalm 24:3-4). Make a clean sweep of all that’s of no use for Your Kingdom as You develop Your Character in me, to make me more like You each day (1 John 4:17). Keep changing me from the inside out, igniting Your Holy Fire in me ‘til Your Fire burns bright and Your Light shines out with revival in me and everywhere You send me in my world! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
