Morning by Morning, January 8 - Hungering and Thirsting for the Presence, Word, and Spirit of God Good morning, Lord Jesus. My eyes are on You, as I seek to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Spirit. ... “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6) Now and in these coming days, I’m setting apart time to seek You, to pursue You, to hunger and thirst for You. Give me a deeper hunger still, a deeper thirst still. As the deer pants for the waters, so my soul longs for You (Psalm 42:1). More of You, less of me; You increase, as I decrease (John 3:30). According to the Promise of Your Word, as I hunger You fill, as I thirst You satisfy. Replace my appetites for all other things with a stronger, even insatiable appetite for You and Your Presence, for You and Your Word, for You and Your Spirit. I’m excited for the spiritual journey You’ve set before me. I’m expectant for an awakening and revival of my soul all along the way as I hunger and thirst for You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
