Morning by Morning, January 5 - Kept in “Perfect Peace” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Ground me in Your Word and fill me with Your Spirit, as I begin my day immersed in Your Presence. ... “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT). You fix me, as I keep my thoughts fixed on You. You keep me in “perfect peace” as I keep looking to the Perfect One (Matthew 5:48). You give me peace, as I cast all anxiety onto You, for You care for me (1 Peter 5:7). You heal me and free me from what would trouble me, as I trust in You, not leaning on my own understanding, but looking to You, listening for You, following You (Proverbs 3:5-6). You keep me in “perfect peace” as I rest in the peace of the One is the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). “Then (I) will experience (Your) peace, which exceeds anything (I) can understand. (Your) peace will guard (my) heart and mind as (I) live in (You)” (Philippians 4:7 NLT). My eyes are on You now -- pursuing Your Presence, grounded in Your Word, filled with Your Spirit. And now as I rise from my place of prayer and go about my day, I embrace Your grace to keep my eyes fixed on You all day long through all that would seek to take this peace away. For it’s not really my peace or the peace of my circumstances or even the peace of my good attitude, but Your peace within me that You have graciously given me, the peace of Your Presence abiding within me (John 15:4), the Peace of “Christ in (me), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
