Realignment of Repentance - January 9, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, January 9 - Realignment of Repentance   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading, for Your sheep hear Your voice and follow You (John 10:27). ...   “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10 ESV).   There’s a realignment that comes through repentance. As I turn to You and turn away from all that’s less than You and Your will and Your ways in my life, You realign me and renew me and set me right with You again.   You forgive me of my sins (1 John 1:9). You purify my soul of every defilement (2 Corinthians 7:1). You fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). And You even restore unto me the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12).   Thank you for the gift and the joy of this means of Your grace, this expression of Your goodness, this desire of Your heart to realign my life with Yours through Your invitation to repentance. It’s not a one-time offer. It’s not take it or leave it. It’s every moment of every day -- morning by morning and step by step -- at the heart of Your call and the call of Your heart to “Come, follow Me” (Matthew 4:19).   So here I come, here’s my heart, Lord Jesus. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
