Beauty of Diversity 1-25-08

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I center my thoughts and my day in You. ... "For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members of one another" (Romans 12:4-5). Thank You for the diversity of the body of Christ, an expression of Your creativity. Thank You for the freedom to be ourselves, in the unique way You have created each of us. "We have gifts that differ according to the grace given us" (v. 6). And every gift, expressed differently in every one, is necessary for the health of the body and for the ministry of the body to others. While the false religions, confused and deceived by the enemy of our souls, teach that we are to become one with the universe in nothingness, You teach the opposite. We are "fearfully and wonderfully made" for live forever with You in the closest union but not uniformity. You've created us individually and uniquely with such incredible diversity as a means of display Your the beauty of Your glory forever. I thank You for role models and mentors, for spiritual fathers and brothers, mothers and sisters, from whom I can learn. But I am not to be just like them; I am to be just like You -- conformed to the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. Be encouraged today!
