Morning by Morning, August 18 - Give Them Jesus
 
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and the Father Heart of God, as You make me more like You today. As You are, so are we to be in our world, and this is how Your “love has been perfected among us in this” (1 John 4:17). ...
 
“When I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come proclaiming the testimony of God to you with superior speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And I came to you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. My speech and my proclamation were made not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:1-5).
 
As my wife Rocio and I travel to Mexico for ministry today, let it be in our heart to give them Jesus. Not our speeches or our wisdom -- just Jesus.
 
It’s in the name of Jesus, not my name that You pour out “a demonstration of the Spirit and of power.” It’s in Your mercy and Your love that “the power of God” is released to set hearts free -- free to be all they were created to be, growing in maturity and authority in their true identity as children of God and disciples of Christ (Isaiah 61:1-4; Luke 4:18-19). As the Father sent You in the power of the Spirit, so You send us in that same power of the Spirit and authority of Your name (John 17:18 and 20:21).
 
So may we go in You and go proclaiming You and You alone. May we go in love, for You are Love (1 John 4:18). And it’s the power of Your love that will set hearts free in Your name -- starting with our own. Freely we receive and freely we give (Matthew 10:8). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
