Morning by Morning, May 24 - “As You Go...” Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:16). Rule and reign in my heart and every moment of my day... My wife, Rocio, and I are packing up to head out the door for the airport to go minister in the Mexico City area for the next several days. We’re praying for salvations, healing, deliverance, and revival everywhere You send us, as we speak in a different church every night, with personal prayer ministry sessions and Holy Spirit-led encounters and divine appointments all during the days. We really don’t know what to expect, but we are expectant! As we get ready to go, what comes to my heart this morning in these first moments of prayer are these words: “As you go....” Yes, Lord. We’re going. But as we go, we go with You. We remember You go with us. You’re always with us. You never leave us, never forsake us, always abiding within us. As I press in to listen more deeply to what You’re speaking to me in this moment, this Scripture comes to mind: “As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand’” (Matthew 10:7). Yes, Lord. Fill our mouths with Your words. Fill our hearts with Your love. Give us boldness to declare the truth and help facilitate encounters with You and Your kingdom that’s “at hand.” Stretch out Your hands through us, Your heart through us. Even advance Your kingdom in the hearts of people through us, as we obey Your command and embrace Your commission to go. And “as (we) go,” may we never forgot that You are the One who sent us and You are the One who is with us. Now the full context and the next verse of that Scripture comes to mind: “As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:7-8). Yes, Lord. Let it be so! All in Your power, all by Your grace, all in Your name! We really have no idea what to expect, but with a Word like this burning in our hearts, we are expectant! We’re excited to see what God will do! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
