Morning by Morning, March 8 - “In Returning and Rest” We’re Comforted and Empowered Good morning, Lord Jesus. I turn to You -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God--My Rock and Refuge, my Lord and Savior, my Healer and Deliverer, my Best Friend and Everlasting Father, my Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace, my Mighty God--I trust in You, rest in You, and seek to follow You, right now and throughout the moments of my day (Isaiah 9:6). ... With some family matters going on in the distance and ministry matters here at hand on our ministry assignments, I’m sensing the strong need just to get into Your Presence this morning--resting in You, trusting in You. A few Scriptures comes to mind right away: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). I return to You. I rest in You. I get quiet before You and find my confidence and strength in You. You know all I need. You provide all I need. And somehow, as you provide for my needs, You provide for the needs of others; as You comfort me, You comfort others. Even moments of my tribulation become moments of Your triumph, as I return to You and rest in You. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Thank You for all Your comfort and love, Your encouragement and confidence. Thank You for strengthening me for all I need, as I find my strength in You--my “All in All” (Ephesians 1:23). And now in Your strength, empowered by Your Presence, I’m ready to arise and go into my day, excited to see all You will do! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
