Morning by Morning, March 18 - “Love Never Fails.” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be at the center of my heart and in every moment of my day. ... “Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8). Whatever my challenges, “Love never fails.” Whatever my questions about how to handle a tricky situation, speak with a difficult person, confront a heavy matter, respond to an intimidating concern, “Love never fails.” Keep giving me the grace to keep turning to You. Keep putting Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your words in my mouth, Your perspective in my spirit. Keep forming Your character in my character and Your nature in my nature. Always at the heart of Your character and your nature is Love, “God is Love” (1 John 4:18). And “Love never fails.” As You are, so am I to be (1 John 4:17). As You are, so I seek to be. So as I seek to be “speaking the truth in love” and living the truth in love--all by Your grace and as best as I can--I can trust Your unfailing love to be at work in all I encounter and overcome (Ephesians 4:15). For “Love never fails.” I may fail, but Your Love won’t. I may make mistakes, but Your Love won’t. So even if I make mistakes and even if I fail, Your Love will still be at work in every situation, even redeeming my failures and my mistakes, if my heart and spirit are pursuing the character and nature of Your Love (Romans 8:28). “The steadfast Love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness.... The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him” (Lamentations 3:22-25 ESV). I’m a soul who’s seeking You, waiting for You, trusting in You. And I’m trusting the truth and the power of the promise of Your Word and every way You will manifest it though me throughout the moments of this day, that Your “Love never fails.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
