Morning by Morning, December 30, 2024 - At the Close of the Year, Remembering All God has Done Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be here in the center of my heart and in the middle of every moment of my day. ... “Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is the Lord our God! ...” (Psalm 105:4-7) As we come to the close of another year, I’m taking time to “remember (Your) marvelous works which (You) have done.” I remember all the times You have been my Strength and my Savior, my Hope and Redeemer. In remembering, my perspective is not just looking back on the good things and the good times and wishing it was the same today. No, it’s thanking You for being with me in all things and all times, whether good or bad, whether intended or unintended, whether painful or pleasant. I’m remembering the strength and power of Your persistent Presence, remembering You never left me, never forsook me, never let me go no matter what I was going through. And just like You were with me then, You’re with me now. And just like You’re with me now, You’ll continue to be with me “always,” -- just like You said (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5). You are “the Lord (my) God” and I am one of Your “chosen ones.” I’m a chosen child of God who’s given my heart to You, who’s entrusted my life to You. And the great blessing of giving my life to You is the confident peace of knowing the truth You’ve given Your life for me (John 3:16) and I can live every moment of every day “in newness of life” in You (Romans 6:4). So I will continue to remember You and thank You. I will continue to seek You and Your strength, as I “seek (Your) face evermore.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
