Morning by Morning, December 31, 2024 - Embracing the One Who is “The Beginning and the End” Going from the End of One Year Into the Beginning of the New Year Good morning, Lord Jesus. My Lord and Savior, Mighty God and Best Friend, One with the Father and One with Holy Spirit, and at the same time, humbling Yourself to be One within each one of us who open our hearts to You (John 17:21). ... As we come to the last day of this year and look forward to the first day of the next, I’m reminded of Your Words of being both the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End in the last Chapter of the last Book of the Bible: “I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last” (Revelation 22:13). Lord Jesus, You were there in the beginning; You are here with us now and ever shall be. You’re the First and the Last and Everything in between as our “All in All” (1 Corinthians 15:28). And by Your Holy Spirit abiding in our human spirits, wholly surrendered to You, You unite us with Yourself -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God -- forever and ever as we give our all to Your All. As Your Word invites every one of us to fully embrace: “The one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him” (1 Corinthians 6:17). “There is one body and one Spirit, just as (we) were called in one hope of (our) calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in (us) all” (Ephesians 4:4-6). “To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that (we) may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19). So as I come the end of this past year and enter in to this next year, I recommit my life to You; I rededicate all that I am and all that I have to You. As best as I can and all by the power of Your grace, I give all of me to all of You — my “All in All,” my “Alpha” and “Omega,” my “Beginning” and “End,” my “First” and “Last” and Everything In Between. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
