Morning by Morning, October 16 - Vessel of Honor
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Let Your name be the first words from my mouth this morning. Let Your nature be in my heart throughout the moments of my day. ...
"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart" (2 Timothy 2:20-22, NKJV).
I want to pursue You from a pure heart. I want to be a vessel of honor in the house of my God. I want to be useful the Master and every good work You've planned for my life. I want to be secure in my identity and fulfill my destiny. I want to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all I'll ever truly need will be added unto me (Matthew 6:33).
So cleanse my heart and purify my soul. Give me right thoughts and right desires. Give me clean hands and a pure heart. Give me a passion to "pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace" -- all by Your power and all by Your grace at work within me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My Friend, I pray the Holy Spirit will continually cleanse your heart and purify your soul, shaping you into a vessel of honor for our God. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 15 - Constant, Steadfast God
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me start this day centered in You, grounded in Your Word, and filled with Your Spirit. ...
"God is not a human being, that He should lie, or a mortal, that He should change His mind. Has He not promised, and will He not fulfill it?" (Numbers 23:19)
You are my constant and steadfast God. Your Word is certain and Your promises are secure. You are faithful and true, unwavering and worthy of my trust. You'll never leave me nor forsake me; You're always with me. You're always at work to bring out the best in me and work out Your best for me. And that gives me peace and comfort and strength in the security of Your unfailing love for me. "He who did not withhold His own Son, but gave Him up for all of us, will He not with Him also give us everything else?" (Romans 8:32) "No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly" (Psalm 85:11).
You've given Your best for me. I want to give my best for You, as best as I can and all by Your grace. "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by Him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). I want to love You and honor You and serve You this day and every day because You are so good and faithful to me. I love You because You first loved me (1 John 4:19). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My Friend, may you know the constant, steadfast love of our God every day of your life. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 10 - Holy Fire from the Heart
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, sanctify me in spirit, soul, and body. As best as I can and all by Your grace, I give as much of me to You as I can; and I receive as much of You within me as I can. I pray that tomorrow I'll be able to give You more -- more and more, every day until the day You come to embrace Your Body and receive Your Bride. ....
"May the God of peace himself sanctify (me) entirely; and may (my) spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls (me) is faithful, and He will do this. Beloved, pray for (me)" (1 Thessalonians 5:23-25).
Yes, Lord. Hear my prayer. Here I am. I can never be holy from the outside in, trying to be good enough or do all the right things to be righteous enough. But You can make me holy from the inside out -- holy from the heart (Philippians 2:13). Take the Holy Fire from Your altar in heaven and sanctify me; ignite Your Holy Fire in my spirit and send me (Isaiah 6:6-8). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My Friend, I pray the God of all peace would sanctify you entirely in spirit and soul and body, that He would burn within you with His Holy Fire from your heart. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 8 - Harmony of the Heart
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I honor You and worship You -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I yield to You and welcome You into every area of my life and every moment of my day. ...
"Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony" (Colossians 3:13-14).
Forgive, love, embrace -- this is the harmony of the heart. Forgive one another; love one another; embrace one another. Don't focus on offences, but seek ways to mend fences. Don't pull away and isolate, but come together and celebrate. Perfect harmony flows from a pure heart that's willing embrace and be embraced, to love and be loved, to forgive and be forgiven.
Show us how to live this way -- to desire it and to do it. Empower us to be one in "one body and one Spirit" (Ephesians 4:4). Embrace us as we embrace one another in "the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). When we are one in this way, in the harmony of the heart, the world will know that the Father has sent His Son and we are the body of His Son filled with the Spirit of God (John 17:23). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My Friend, I pray the Lord God will empower you to forgive, love, and embrace in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace in all your relationships as the Holy Spirit leads. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, September 8 - Priority of Perspective
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Open the eyes of my heart to see You. Awaken and sharpen all my spiritual senses to experience and encounter You, Lord God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- now and throughout the moments of my day. ...
"So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God" (Colossians 3:1-3).
By the power of the grace of God, I willingly choose to deliberately set my mind on the things that are above, on the things are unseen, on the things of the spiritual, heavenly realm. My feet are on earth, but my heart is heaven. Help me keep the priority of my perspective straight, "because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:16).
Some say we shouldn't be so heavenly-minded that we are no earthly good. Your Word says just the opposite. Your Word says we are not to set our minds on things that are on earth, but in the heavens. We're to be aware of the things of earth, to be engaged with the things of earth, but to have the priority of our perspective on the spiritual, heavenly realm. As You taught us to pray, we are to constantly seek Your heavenly realm and then pray, "Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10).
Lord, I don't want to be detached, but I also don't want to be defined by the limitations and restrictions of this earthly realm. In Christ, I'm created for both -- living in the earthly realm and abiding in the heavenly realm. "But God, who is rich in mercy, out the great love with which He loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ -- by grace you have been saved -- and raised us up with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 1:4-6). So let me live another day with my head and my heart in the clouds of heaven. Let that be my priority of perspective. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My Friend, may the Lord give you His priority of perspective. May He open the eyes of your heart to see Him and His heavenly realm, as you grow in your experiences and encounters with Him and His heavenly realm with all your spiritual senses. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, September 26 - "One Spirit with Him"
Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are One with the Father and One with the Holy Spirit. Be One within me as You make me more like You today. ...
"But anyone united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him" (1 Corinthians 6:15).
Lord, let Your mind be united with my mind. Let Your heart be united with my heart. Let Your thoughts and Your desires and Your will be united with mine. By Your Spirit at work within my spirit, cause me to desire what is right and do what is right, to desire Your ways and do what You say -- not just because I have to, but because I want to (Philippians 2:13).
I don't have the power to live a life that pleases You in my own power. Apart from You, I can do nothing (John 15:5). But I am never apart from You; You are with me always (Matthew 28:20). You never push me away and Your never let go. "For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on You" (Psalm 86:5). You constantly create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10).
Your Holy Spirit -- the very Spirit of Christ, the Promise of the Father, the Seal of my redemption, the Guardian and Guide of my soul -- dwells in me and is at work with in me, making me more like You in "spirit and soul and body" that I may be "sound and blameless at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:23). By the grace of God, that's my desire -- despite every sin and failure to the contrary, along my journey of spiritual maturity to grow up into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29). Now throughout the moments of my day, let my spirit be one spirit with You. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My Friend, I pray you would be one spirit with the Lord, as His Holy Spirit is at work within your spirit to make you more like Him today. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, September 24 - "In the Valley of Decision"
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my heart, open up my spirit, seeking Your face and listening for Your voice. ...
"Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision" (Joel 3:14).
One day, You will come again to judge the living and the dead (1 Peter 4:5). "For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil" (2 Corinthians 5:10). "For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For it is written, 'As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.' So then each of us will be accountable to God" (Romans 14:10-12).
But already, every day, You set before us life or death, blessings or curses, the choice to walk in the ways of the Lord or walk in the ways of our flesh. In the freedom that a relationship of love requires, You allow us the freedom to depend upon ourselves or depend upon You, to trust in ourselves or to trust in You. And by the grace of God, we can trust and depend upon Your power, not our power, on Your righteousness and not our righteousness. "That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting (our) trespasses against (us) (2 Corinthians 5:19).
So Lord, today is my day of decision. Today is my day of salvation. Your Spirit urges us every day "not to accept the grace of God in vain. For He says, 'At an acceptable I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you.' See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation!" (2 Corinthians 6:1-2). By the power and the grace of God, let me "choose this day" that I will serve You, that I will live this day for You, not accepting the grace of God in vain (Joshua 24:15).
Let me be dead to myself and "alive to God in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:11). Today the "Spirit of Christ" lives in me (Romans 8:9). And by the power of the Spirit of Christ living in me, let me not live another day for myself. On this day of decision, empower me to choose to live for the One who died and was raised for me, for the One who loves me and forgives me, heals me and frees me, for the One who longs to live in me and through me to the glory of God (2 Corinthians 5:15). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
Tommy, I pray the Holy Spirit will empower You to choose this day to live your life in the power of Christ for the glory of God. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!
Friends, thank you so much for your prayer for us last weekend for the Holy Spirit Revival at Kingswood United Methodist Church in Amarillo, Texas. The Lord moved mightily among us. By Sunday afternoon, the Holy Spirit moved across the room with every one praying Spirit-led prayers, speaking Spirit-empowered prophetic words over each other, and sharing Spirit-inspired vision for the destiny of their church. Praise God! And I pray for Holy Spirit revival in your heart and your church. Please pray the same for me! God bless you!

Morning by Morning, September 20 - Songs of Gladness and Victory
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be exalted in my heart and throughout the moments of my day. ...
"The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you in His love; He will exult over you with loud singing as on a day of festival" (Zephaniah 3:17).
What song of gladness are You singing over me today, Lord? What battles are You giving me victory over today, Lord?
Open wide the gates
Let every path be made straight
For the King of Glory is coming soon!
Lift high your hearts
He finishes what He starts
For the King of Glory is coming soon!
Don't hold back
Advance and attack
For the King of Glory is coming soon!
The mountains will tremble and the earth will shake
Unlock the doors and open the gates
For the King of Glory is coming soon!
So with all that I have and all that I am
I give it all to You, the Great I Am
For the King of Glory is coming soon!
"Who is this King of Glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of Glory many come in.
Who is this King of Glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of Glory" (Psalm 24:8-10).
Thank You, Lord. Keep opening my eyes to see, opening my ears to hear. Let me hear You sing Your song of gladness over me all day. Let me see You go before for me in victory all day. Keep coming into my heart and into my life as the King of Glory, strong and mighty, mighty in battle, established and exalted in eternal victory. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My Friend, I pray the Holy Spirit will open your eyes and ears to hear and see the Spirit of the Lord singing over you and moving mightily before you today. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!
Please keep us is prayer as I go to Kingswood United Methodist Church in Amarillo, Texas on Sunday, September 22 to join with them in what they are calling their Holy Spirit Revival - A Day Apart for Our Destiny.
