Morning by Morning, March 27 - Seeds of Judas’ Greed that Betrayed Jesus   Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I follow You through Your Word on this Holy Week, I embrace You and Your Word into my week. ...   “Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, ‘What are you willing to give me if I deliver (Jesus) to you?’ And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him” (Matthew 26:14-16).   Judas was afflicted with greed and betrayal. The spirit of greed says, “What will you give me?” The spirit of betrayal says, “I have no loyalty to anyone but myself.” And these spirits opened his soul to be invaded by the evil one himself (Luke 22:3).   The greed and betrayal, the dishonor and disloyalty of Judas against You serves as a warning to us all. Though he was later racked with remorse, even trying to return his thirty pieces of silver, admitting, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood,” it was too late; and he hanged himself in despair (Matthew 27:3-8). All was in fulfillment of the ancient Words of God prophesied long ago (v. 9-10), spoken by the One who knows the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end (Isaiah 46:9-10).   Holy Spirit, search my heart. Reveal and remove every root, every seed, every influence of greed or betrayal in me. Replace it with the grace to be found faithful to You to the end.   Judas followed You as Your disciple. Judas saw You do great and mighty things in perfect expression of the perfect Father heart of God in the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit of God. Yet somehow, he was disappointed in You or frustrated in the plan or disillusioned with Your submission to the will of the Father instead of to the will of Judas.   There were dangerous seeds that grew into the greed that led Judas to betray You. Whatever was sown into of his soul to be reaped with his destruction, any of us could be tempted or even found guilty at times of allowing those kinds of thoughts to linger in our minds rather than taking them captive and overcoming them (2 Corinthians 10:5). And all of us, apart from the grace of God, will reap what is sown (Galatians 6:7).   Make me sensitive to recognize any of those temptations in me, to overcome any negativity and criticism, self-righteousness or judgmentalism. Keep lifting my eyes to You to keep trusting in You, to keep believing You have the Words of Spirit and Life and Truth, knowing what’s best for me and for all in the perfect plans of God. Keep giving me grace to keep following You, “found faithful” to You to the end (1 Corinthians 4:2). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Thirsting for Our Time of Visitation - March 26, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, March 26 - Thirsting for Our Time of Visitation   Good morning, Lord Jesus. My eyes are on You. Looking and listening for Your leading. ...   “Now as (Jesus) drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, ‘If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation’” (Luke 19:41-44).   I hear Your passion for Your people on that day of that first Holy Week on Your journey to the cross for us all. How You longed for eyes to see, ears to hear, hearts to receive all You had to freely give. But they “did not know the time of (their) visitation.”   Instead of peace, they would have destruction. Instead of life, they would have death.   How it is true today. Your passion is the same for all people--to know You, to embrace You, to receive all You desire to freely give to all.   Come move in a great visitation of Your Presence in our day. By the power of Your grace, by a mighty move of Your Holy Spirit, open eyes to see, open ears to hear, open hearts to receive. Release from Heaven the humility to admit our need of You and awaken an intensity of desire for You. Use all that feels like destruction or death or blindness or deafness or hard-heartedness of every situation in every life that desperately needs to know You and encounter You and experience Your passion and love for each of one. Let them not miss “the time of (their) visitation.” Let us not miss “the time of (our) visitation.”   No matter where any of us are on our spiritual journey, may You awaken in us all a deeper hunger, a greater thirst, to know You, to encounter You, to experience You with an insatiable desire to have a visitation from You in our world and in our hearts:   “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely!” (Revelation 22:17) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Hosannah to the King of Heaven! - March 25, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, March 25 - Hosannah to the King of Heaven!   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Hosannah to You! Holy are You! I lift up the palm branches of my spirit to welcome You into the place of praise in my heart (John 12:13). ...   “When (Jesus) had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, ‘Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you loosing it?’ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’   “So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, ‘Why are you loosing the colt?’   “And they said, ‘The Lord has need of him.’ Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road.   Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying:   ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!’   And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, ‘Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.’   But He answered and said to them, ‘I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out” (Luke 19:28-40). On that first Palm Sunday, You fulfilled the ancient Word from the Prophet Zechariah:   “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is He, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey!” (Zechariah 9:9)   You came in such humility. Yet, at the same time, with such authority. And though they thought You were coming to set up an earthly kingdom, You came to establish Your heavenly kingdom. As You declared to the earthly authorities a few days later in that first Holy Week, “My kingdom is not of this world.... My kingdom is not from here” (John 18:36).   You are the King of Heaven, the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords!” (Revelation 19:16) And Your kingdom comes into every heart that’s lifted up to You, that’s opened up to You, that’s welcome You to come in to rule and reign as King and Lord.   You are “the King of Glory!” (Psalm 24:7-10) And with Christians around the world who celebrate this week as Holy Week from that Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday, I praise You and welcome You to come into my heart, to come rule and reign in my life, as I honor the One who was celebrated but then crucified, who was crucified but then raised from the dead, who was raised from the dead but now rules and reigns from Heaven as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Thank you for all your prayers! The Lord delivered me from my battle with some attack of sickness and healed me and gave me such overwhelming joy and energy Saturday morning to be able to get to the Retreat and join everyone for a weekend of powerful ministry! Many testimonies of healing and freedom, with great renewal of hearts. One lady who carried a heavy burden of grief for most of her life from the murder of father told me her life was changed this weekend! Wow! Praise God! When we are weak, then He is strong! God Who Heals, as We Rest in Him - March 21, 2024

 

Morning by Morning, March 21 - God Who Heals, as We Rest in Him   Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are my strength when I am weak. You are my all in all (Ephesians 1:23). ...   I woke up in the night not feeling well. This Word of Yours comes to mind and I continue to pray it and proclaim it:   “Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:1-5).   Thank You for Your Word, revealing Your will to heal all diseases, just as You desire to forgive all iniquities.   Let Your Word get into my spirit and soul and body. Let Your Word penetrate every cell in my body, saturate my immune system, and quicken my spirit. Let Your arms of grace draw me into a deep rest with You today.   I embrace another Promise of Your Word:   “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength” (Isaiah 30:15).   Thank You that Your Word always goes forth and never returns empty, but is always powerful to accomplish all You intend. Just as You have eternally decreed:   “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11).   You are the Word, Lord Jesus (John 1:1). And You are in me. Your Word is in me. Your Word is made flesh in me -- every cell, every muscle, every organ, every dimension of my being (John 1:14; Colossians 1:27). I am “hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). In You, I “live and move and have my being” (Acts 17:28). By Your stripes, I am healed (1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:4-5 fulfilled by You in Matthew 8:17).   He who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). It’s already done in heaven; let it now be made manifest and done in me now as it is in heaven (Ephesians 1:3; Matthew 6:10). For You are Jehovah Rapha, the God Who Heals (Exodus 15:26).   “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make (me) complete in every good work to do His will, working in (me) what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen!” (Hebrews 13:20-21)   I pray the same for all who are struggling today. And now, by the grace of God, “in returning and rest,” I’m going to go back to bed, as Your Word does it’s work in me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
