Biblical New Year Begins Tonight - September 18, 2020

 Morning by Morning, September 18 - Biblical New Year Begins Tonight

Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, be King of my heart and Lord of my life today. ...

"O sing to the Lord a new song,
    for He has done marvelous things.
His right hand and His holy arm
    have gotten Him victory!
The Lord has made known His victory;
    He has revealed His vindication in the sight of the nations.
He has remembered His steadfast love and faithfulness
    to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
    the victory of our God.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
    break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
    with the lyre and the sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
    make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!"
(Psalm 98:1-6)

Tonight begins the Jewish New Year on the Biblical Calendar -- Rosh Hashanah. "With trumpets and the sound of the horn" joyful songs of praise will fill the atmosphere. This is "the day of sounding the shofar!" (Leviticus 23:24) This is the day "to sound the trumpets!" (Numbers 29:1)

Every feast and festival is fulfilled in You, Lord Jesus -- the appointed times fulfilled in the Appointed One (Colossians 2:16-17). And Your voice is a "voice like a trumpet" (Revelation 1:10).

As the shofars blast, as the trumpets sound, here at the head of a New Year on the Biblical Calendar, let the sound of Your voice go forth in our spirits and all the earth! Break down dividing walls and bring down enemy strongholds, as when the trumpets sounded over Jericho and the people let out a shout of victory on the day of battle! (Joshua 6:20) Call Your people together as one, in humility and faith, in repentance and prayer, as when You sent forth Your word to "Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on (Your) holy mountain!" (Joel 2:1) "Pour out (Your) Spirit on all flesh" again in our days, with expectant faith of great revival and a massive harvest of souls, as we enter into this New Year! (Joel 2:28) "The Lord roars from Zion, and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shake. But the Lord is a Refuge for His people, a Stronghold for the people of Israel!" (Joel 3:16)

Behold, the old has passed away and You're making all things new!

"See, the former things have come to pass,
    and new things I now declare;
before they spring forth,
    I tell you of them" (Isaiah 42:9).

"So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)

"And the One who was seated on the throne said, 'See, I am making all things new.' Also He said, 'Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true'" (Revelation 21:5).

As we enter this New Year, this New Season and Era of all You have in Your heart to do, let hope arise in our hearts from all we've been going through. Let faith arise in our spirits that Your Words are coming to pass, even in ways we don't yet see: "Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.... For I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people, the people whom I formed for Myself so that they might declare My praise" (Isaiah 43:18-21).

We do declare Your praise, O God! With shofars and trumpets and shouts of praise, we thank You for Your Presence and we long with expectant faith for a great manifestation of Your Glory -- even in the midst of what has seemed like such wilderness and desert times. Even in the midst of such ominous signs of such horrendous days to come unless Your people repent and return with all our hearts to You, we believe it's Your heart to make all things new (Isaiah 65:17). We believe You make all things beautiful, in Your time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Lord, let this New Year give us new hope for good things yet to come, for greater things yet to be done! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may you see God's waters break forth in your wilderness and rivers in Your desert, with great hope and expectant faith for all He has for you in this new season, in Jesus name. Please pray the same for me. And I join with you in repentance and prayer for our nation and the people of the earth to turn to God, that He may pour out His Spirit upon all flesh in this new day. God bless you, my friend!
