Morning by Morning, May 17- The Sword of the Spirit!
Good morning, Lord Jesus. My spirit arises to greet You and worship You and welcome You into every moment of my day -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...
“Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints -- and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak (Ephesians 6:17-20).
We’re to take up our salvation and take up our sword. We’re to be filled with the Spirit and praying always in the Spirit. And as the Apostle Paul modelled for us, we’re to ask for prayer and pray for one another to be bold in the Spirit that we may boldly speak the words You stir up in our spirits to make known the mystery and the power and the grace of the gospel!
My wife Rocio and I were so honored and excited to be part of the Spring Conference of Aglow International Ministries for their Central Texas Area gathering in Kerrville this weekend. You were fanning our hearts into flame with a passion for Jesus. You were uniting us and refining us, healing us and freeing us for this strategic time in the earth. And all on the weekend opening up the gates to lead into Pentecost on the Jewish calendar (celebrated later in May on the church calendar). Rocio blew her silver trumpet (Numbers 10:1-10) and I declared the words of Your Spirit You stirred in my spirit to speak of the mystery and power and grace of Your gospel, as we all pursued Your Presence in the deep intimacy of hungry hearts and thirsty spirits to embrace You and all You had for every one of us.
We worshipped on the mountain at the foot of the Empty Cross sculpture by Max Greiner in The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Gardens with worship leader Terry MacAlmon, and with dramatic photos of the orbs of angelic host of heaven covering us and joining us in the worship! Max presented Aglow with a magnificent “Sword of the Spirit” to inspire us and honor the international ministry and spiritual mandate of Aglow.
We were so honored to be a part of the weekend but even more excited to be a part of what You’re doing in the earth in these days! There will come a day when You’ll be coming back as our Coming King with Your Holy Fire in Your eyes and mighty Sword of Your Spirit, riding a white horse with all the majesty, power, and authority of Heaven! (Revelation 19:11-16) The silver trumpet will sound, the archangel will cry out, the heavens will open, and You will descend into our world, crowned in Your glory for all to see! (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
But right now You’ve opened the heavens in our hearts to come crowned in Your glory into our spirits filled up and overflowing with Your Holy Spirit! (John 7:38) Right now You’re releasing Your words of spirit and life and truth through us as Your Spirit prepares the way of the Lord in us and we prepare the way of the Lord in our world! (Isaiah 40:3)
Come, Holy Spirit! “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’” (Revelation 22:17)
And come pour out a new Pentecost, a fresh Pentecost, a personal Pentecost in us now. Come empower us to take up our salvation and the sword of the Spirit to boldly proclaim with our words and our lives this gospel of Your power and grace in us and everywhere You send us -- baptized, ablaze, and aglow with Your Holy Spirit and Your Holy Fire! (Acts 1:4-8) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays
My friend, may you be baptized, ablaze, and aglow with the Holy Spirit and Holy Fire of God, boldly proclaiming His gospel with your words and your life everywhere you are and everywhere the Holy Spirit sends you, in Jesus' name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!
