Morning by Morning, December 15 - Jesus Messiah who Reigns Forever and Ever
Good morning, Lord Jesus. My life is in Your hands; come live Your life through mine today (Colossians 3:4). ...
“The angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a Son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His ancestor David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end’” (Luke 1:30-33).
You shall reign forever and ever -- over the house of Jacob and here in my heart and the hearts of all who put their hope and faith in You.
You are the Messiah, the Christ, the Anointed One of God, the Son of the Most High, who comes to set things right in our world as You set things right in our hearts. At Your first coming, You came as a Child -- conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:35). At Your second coming, You’ll come as a King -- ruling and reigning forever and ever as “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16).
And right now, in between Your first coming and Your second coming, Your Holy Spirit moves on the hearts of all to turn to You, to open up our hearts to You, to surrender to You to rule and reign in our hearts, in our lives, and in our world. That Message declared from the beginning by Your first disciples has never changed:
“Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out, so that times of refreshing may come from the Presence of the Lord, and that He may send the Messiahappointed for you, that is, Jesus, who must remain in heaven until the time of universal restoration that God announced long ago through His holy prophets” (Acts 3:19-21).
By the power of Your grace, I do repent; I do turn my heart to You and turn over my life to You. Rule and reign in me -- my Messiah, my King, my Lord and Savior -- now and forever and ever. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
