Morning by Morning, March 29 - Narrow is the Way Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are my Strength and Shield, my Savior and Sovereign King; and I begin my day seeking You with all my heart and soul. ... Your Spirit is reminding me that every morning I have a choice of the path I can choose for my day -- the narrow way or the broad way, Your way or the world’s way, the way that leads to life in You or the way that leads to death apart from You: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow the gate and difficult the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). Even among those who say they belong to You are many who don’t really seek You and truly seek to know You and follow You and actually allow You to be at the heart and center of their lives. They are sadly deceived; and I shudder to think I’d ever be one of who would hear these words of Yours: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:21-23) Knowing You comes from seeking You, spending time with You, being consciously aware of You and Your Presence throughout the moments of our days. And for me, that begins in these first moments of morning, when I seek Your face and call on Your name and entrust my life to You and to the will of My Father in heaven anew every day. Embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. That’s the heart I want to have at the beginning of my day and throughout the moments of my day -- coming to know You and being known by You more and more every day. That’s choosing to walk through the narrow gate, as I get up from prayer and go about my day along the path of the narrow way. Narrow is the way that leads to life in You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. My friend, may you choose the narrow way, growing closer to Jesus every day, knowing Him and being known by Him, in Jesus' name. God bless you!
