Morning by Morning, March 22 - “Strategically Positioned for Spiritual Purposes” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day. ... “Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace” (Jeremiah 29:7 MEV). ... As I meditate on Your Word and wait for the revelation and quickening of Your Spirit to speak to my spirit, what comes to my heart are these words: “Strategically positioned for Spiritual purposes.” ... Wherever we are, You invite us to embrace our commission that we are strategically positioned for spiritual purposes in that place. Whatever circumstances brought us here, whether we willing choose to come or even if we feel we’ve been “carried away captive” or sent into exile, even fought every step tooth and nail to keep from getting here, we are now strategically positioned for Spiritual purposes here. What is our Spiritual purpose here, Lord? ... I hear in my heart: “You are here to be My salt, to be My light. You are here to pray for this city, to love the people of this community. You are to seek My eyes to see them as I do, to seek My ears to hear them as I do, to seek My mind to think of them as I do. Then you can be an expression of My will and My heart for the people of this place that I love and have laid down My life to save.” ... Yes, Lord. Give me Your eyes, Your ears, Your mind and Your heart for the people of my community. Give me Your grace to be Your salt and light, Your hands and feet, grounded in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit, to make a difference (Matthew 5:13-14). “For in its peace, (I) will have peace.” For as I embrace my place and take up my position, Your love and Your power will arise and shine, no matter how dark or dim, no matter how hardened the hearts or dense the doubts (Isaiah 60:1-2). For You’re the God of this city. You’re the Lord of this nation. You’re the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” of all (Revelation 19:16). As we each pray and take our authority and responsibility from our strategic position, those of “true hearts” will be joined together (Hebrews 10:22), united in “one body and one Spirit” (Ephesians 4:4), so that “with one mind and one voice (we) may glorify God” (Romans 15:6). Lord Jesus, be high and lifted up (John 12:32) in our hearts and in our cities, our communities, our relationships, and every place You’ve strategically positioned us in every season for Your Spiritual purposes. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
