Riding with the Armies of Heaven - June 12, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, June 12 - Riding with the Armies of Heaven   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Forever Father, Faithful Friend, be First and Foremost in my heart and every moment of my day. ...   As I lift up my heart in prayer, You’re opening up my eyes of faith to see an image from Scripture of a day to come:    “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:   KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS   (Revelation 19:11-16).   One day soon the heavens will open and You will descend when You come again in full glory and final victory! Those who have died and gone to heaven will be with You -- riding in the armies of heaven, dressed in white, following the King of Kings and Lord of Lords on that day of fulfillment of Your Word when there will be “loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!’” (Revelation 11:15)   And between this day and that day to come, let Your kingdom come in our hearts, let Your will be done in our lives, let us take our place now in the armies of heaven as the “Commander of the Army of the Lord,” the General of the Armies of Heaven, the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” lives in us (Joshua 5:14; Colossians 1:27).   For “The Lord is a Warrior; the Lord is His name” (Exodus 15:3). “The Lord (our) God is with (us), the Mighty Warrior who saves (Zephaniah 3:17). And we are Your warriors in the Spirit, with the spiritual weapons of our warfare You have placed in our hands and our hearts to follow You into every battle You set before us. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds...” (2 Corinthians 10:4-6). “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).   As the words of prayer rise up in my heart for the battles I’ll face today and with expectant faith for the final battle of that great day to come, I hear in my heart the song of the Lord from the days of the Brownsville Revival I was humbled and honored to experience many years ago:   He has fire in His eyes And a sword in His hand And He's riding a white horse Across this land He has fire in His eyes And a sword in His hand He's riding a white horse All across this land And He's calling out to you and me Will you ride with me And we say yes We'll ride with you We say yes Lord We will stand up and fight We will ride With the armies of Heaven We're gonna be dressed in white We say yes Lord We will ride He has a crown on His head And He's carrying a scepter In His hand And He's leading the armies And He's calling out to you and me Will you ride with Me Will you ride with Me We say yes Lord We'll ride That fire in His eyes Is His love for His bride And He's longing that she will be with Him Right by His side That fire in His eyes Is His burning desire That His bride be with Him Right by His side And He's calling out to us right now Will you ride with Me Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes Lord, yes Lord (Lyndell Cooley, Andy Park, Brownsville Revival)   Yes, Lord. By the power of Your grace and by the Fire You’re burning in my heart, I’ll ride with You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Turning 62, Embracing Isaiah 62 - June 9, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, June 9 - Turning 62, Embracing Isaiah 62   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Awaken my soul to arise into Your Presence to begin my day in the communion of prayer with You -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God (Psalm 57:8). ...   Tomorrow I’ll turn 62. I used to think that sounded old, but now I like to think of things like when Moses didn’t even begin his life’s calling until he was 80 and Enoch who walked with God until he was taken up in the Spirit at 365 years old. I don’t think I want to live that long, but I do want every year, every day to count, as I walk with You.   On the numbers of my birthdays, I often think of the chapters of my favorite Book of the Bible, the Prophet Isaiah. And it’s Isaiah 62 that declares these words of prophecy which I embrace for my 62nd year:   “Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples!   “Indeed the Lord has proclaimed To the end of the world: ‘Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.’   “And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; And you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken” (Isaiah 62:10-12).   I’m excited to “go through the gates” this year!   I’m excited to go everywhere You send me, to go through every gate You set before me.   I believe some will be gates You’ll open for me -- like the gates You open that no man can shut (Isaiah 22:22; Revelation 3:7).   And I believe some will even be “the gates of hell (that) shall not prevail” against the men and women of God who are the body and bride of Christ, filled with Your Spirit and fulfilling our calling (Matthew 16:18).   As I “go through the gates” this year, give me the grace to join in Your heart and Your ministry to open up the gates of salvation for all who need to know the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ, to open “prepare the way” for people to encounter the living Presence of the Living God, to build up their spirits that are cast down, to help build a highway of holiness in the hearts of those hungering and thirsting to encounter more of the Lord their God, to help clear away the stones of every barrier that would try to block their way from fulfilling their destiny in You, and to life up the banner of Your love over the people of the body and bride of Christ.   Do it in me and do it through me this year, this 62nd year, I pray.   As I go through the gates, I life up the gates of my heart to You, that the King of Glory may come in as never before, as King David declared with his heart after You:   “Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory!” (Psalm 22:7-10)   In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Speaking Words from Faith - June 8, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, June 8 - Speaking Words from Faith   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name over my day and all I’ll face and all I’ll overcome by the power of Your grace. ...   “So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:22-24).   These are Your Words. This is Your invitation -- to believe in faith, to pray in faith, to speak in faith, to receive in faith.   So deliver me from doubt. Break off my unbelief. Increase my faith (Luke 17:5; Mark 9:24). Don’t let any disappointments from past prayers define the limits of my faith for my present prayers.   “With God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27). And in Your own Words, “All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23).   Instead of coming up with bad theologies, empty philosophies based on arguments from silence in past experiences, or distorted interpretations of the Word of God to try to explain away any lack of my experience of the Truth of Your Words, I humble myself to ask You for the grace of obedience to obey the express command of Your Scripture: “Have faith in God.”   I can’t make that happen. “Apart from (You), I can do nothing” (John 15:5). But I praise God that I’m never apart from You. You’re always with me (Matthew 28:20). And You’re always reminding me by the moving of Your Spirit in my heart, “It is (our) Father’s good pleasure to give (us) the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).   So align my heart with Yours, my thoughts with Yours, my words with Yours. Put Your thoughts in my mind and Your desires in my heart so that that the words that come out of my spirit in prayer and my mouth in faith are expressions of Your heart and mind and will -- here on earth as it is in heaven, according to the will of God (Luke 11:2). That’s the kind of faith I want to have. That’s the kind of words I want to speak. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Abounding Hope - June 7, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, June 7 - Abounding Hope   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ...   These Words of blessing come to my heart as I wait for Your leading:    “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).   To be filled with Your Spirit is to be empowered by Your Spirit. To be filled with Your Spirit is to be filled with joy and peace and faith. And to be filled with Your Spirit is to be abounding in hope.   Come fill my heart with hope today. Abounding hope. Hope that abounds in trusting the One who puts hope in my heart and gives me the grace to keep hoping even before I see it and to keep believing even before I receive it.   “Hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?” (Romans 8:24) So between this day and the day of my hopes fulfilled, I will trust in You, I will believe in You, I will put all my faith and hope in You -- as best as I can and all by Your grace. For “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not (yet) seen” (Hebrews 11:1). And “if we hope for what we do not (yet) see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance” (Romans 8:25).   With this kind of hope, grounded in this kind of joy and peace and faith that only You can provide by the power of Your grace, I will not be disappointed but expectant -- even in the waiting, in the praying, in the persevering until Your promises come to pass.   For this kind of “hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5). Even though “hope deferred makes the heart sick ... when the desire comes, it is a tree of life” (Proverbs 13:12).   So fill me with Your Spirit today. Fill me with Your abounding hope today, O God of hope! Let “this hope (I) have (be) as an anchor of (my) soul, both sure and steadfast, and which (embraces Your) Presence (Hebrews 6:19). And now, by the power of Your grace, “(I) lay hold of the hope set before (me)” for this day and every day until my hope is completely and finally fulfilled in You (Hebrews 6:18).
