Morning by Morning, October 23 - "A Cheerful Giver"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. You've shown me Your Father, saved me by Your Blood, and filled me with Your Spirit. I love You, Lord, and thank You, Lord, for first loving me.  ...

"The point is this:  the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:6).

Lord, fill me with the joy of giving -- giving abundantly from the heart of all that I am and all that have all to You. You've taught me so many times in so many ways that "You can't out-give God."

It's You've nature to give. Father, You give us Your Son (John 3:16). You give us Your Spirit (Acts 2:4). You give us the fullness of Your salvation (Romans 9:13). You give us "abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine" (Ephesians 3:20). And I want to be a giver like You -- a cheerful giver in the joy of Your Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  I pray the Spirit will stir in your spirit with the joy of giving all that you have and all that you to the glory of God from every dimension of your life. May you be a cheerful giver! Please pray the same the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

This weekend I'm excited to be speaking on Healing & Stewardship of Spirit, Soul, and Body at First United Methodist Church of La Grange, Texas with my good friend Pastor J. Paul Bruhn. Please keep us in prayer.

Morning by Morning, October 22 - Press On to Perfection

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, fill my spirit, soul, and body with the fullness of Your Presence in the communion of prayer. ...

"Therefore let us go to toward perfection, leaving behind the basic teaching about Christ, and laying again the foundation:  repentance from dead works and faith toward God, instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and the eternal judgment... Ground that drinks up the rain falling on it repeatedly, and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God" (Hebrews 6:1-7).

Lord, let Your Word fall like rain, repeatedly every day, on the ground of my heart, plowed and prepared for You. Let Your Spirit come rest upon me, repeatedly every day, like the dew of the morning, refreshed and renewed. I want to be useful to You and fruitful for Your Kingdom.

Thank You for the foundations of the faith You've established in my spirit, like well-planted seeds that are broken-up by pressure and time so that my spiritual life can arise out of the soil to grow into maturity, to go on toward perfection. And the perfection You desire form me is a life wholly devoted to You (Matthew 22:37-40). This is the fulfillment of Your command, "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matthew 5:48).

Yes, Lord -- all in Your time, all in Your way, all by the power of Your grace at work within me by Your Spirit (Philippians 2:13). "Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own.... I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:12-14). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  I pray the Holy Spirit continues to stir in your heart to press on to perfection through the soaking Presence of God by His Word and Spirit upon your life repeatedly every day. Please pray the same the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 21 - "With My Whole Heart"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my eyes and open up my heart to welcome You in to every area of my life and every moment of my day. ...

"I give You thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing Your praise; I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness; for You have exalted Your name and Your word above everything. In the day I called You answered me, and You increased my strength of soul... The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands" (Psalm 138:1-8).

With my whole heart, with an undivided heart, with a heart that holds nothing back, I worship You, I give You thanks, I give Your praise, I give You all that I have and all that I am, as best as I can and all by Your grace. Let there be nothing ever between us, nothing ever to take my heart or my focus away from You and Your purpose for my life.

You've filled my life with good things. And even in the most tragic and painful times, You've displayed over and again Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness to me. You constantly increase my strength of soul. You persistently awaken my spirit to arise into daily communion with Your Spirit. You unfailingly exalt Your name and Your word and Your will above every circumstance and challenge that would seek to derail Your plans for my journey of faith with You -- never because I deserve it, but always because You love me. By the grace of God to redeem it all, Your steadfast love for me, O Lord, endures forever. So how could I help but love You and thank You with my whole heart? In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  may you know the steadfast love and unfailing faithfulness of our God in every challenge and circumstance of your life. May you increasingly trust Him with your whole heart. Please pray the same the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 18 - Obedient from the Heart

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be Lord of my spirit, soul, and body; Lord my mind, will, and emotions; Lord my past, present, and future; Lord of my identity, security, and destiny; Lord my possessions, positions, and promises; Lord my relationships, opportunities, and challenges; Lord of my hopes, dreams, and desires. Be Lord of all.  ...

"Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that you, having once been slaves of sin, have become obedient from the heart ... and that you, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness... For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness for sanctification" (Romans 6:16-19).

Lord Jesus, I choose You as my Master and Lord. I ask You to change me from the inside out until I "become obedient from the heart" -- not just obedient because I know in my heart it's right, but obedient because in my heart I long to be right.

Free me from the slavery of sin -- not just in my actions, but also in my thoughts and desires. "The end of those things is death" (v. 6:21). But create in me a clean heart; renew a right spirit within me. Cause me to desire the life You've chosen for me, with an honest desire for holiness of heart and life from the inside out. "The end (of that) is eternal life" -- not just a life of joy and peace in heaven when I die, but a life of joy and peace in my heart now (v. 6:22). So in the power of Your grace, Lord, make my heart right so I can be obedient from the heart. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  may Jesus be Lord of every area of your life, may His Holy Spirit change your heart from the inside out more and more every day to be more like Him. May He be your Master and Lord. May you desire holiness of heart and life so you can be obedient to God from the heart. Please pray the same the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 17 - The Rule of Peace

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, filled with Your Holy Spirit, I want to be in communion with every dimension of God throughout every moment of my day.  ...

"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful" (Colossians 3:15).

Let me not be ruled by my own mind, my own will, or my own emotions. Let me not be ruled by fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of success, or fear of man. Let me not be ruled the stability of government, the standards of culture, or the seductions of the world. Let the peace of Christ rule in my heart.

You promise the rule of Your peace for all who will choose to let You rule in our hearts. "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do no let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid" (John 14:27).

So when I have questions, let Your peace rule. When I need a sense of direction or discernment, let Your peace rule. When I waver or doubt, when I stumble or fall, when I just need to know that You are there and You are for me and You'll always come through with Your very best for me, let Your peace rule.

You are the "Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6). Your peace is beyond understanding; it doesn't make sense in the eyes of the world or in the face of circumstances, but it guards my heart and steadies my mind (Philippians 4:7). Life in the Kingdom of God is full of peace (Romans 14:17). So by the grace of God I bow my knees and open my heart to rule of Your peace in my life today. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  I pray the peace of Christ will rule in your heart in every decision and encounter you have today. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 16 - Vessel of Honor

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Let Your name be the first words from my mouth this morning. Let Your nature be in my heart throughout the moments of my day.  ...

"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart" (2 Timothy 2:20-22, NKJV).

I want to pursue You from a pure heart. I want to be a vessel of honor in the house of my God. I want to be useful the Master and every good work You've planned for my life. I want to be secure in my identity and fulfill my destiny. I want to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all I'll ever truly need will be added unto me (Matthew 6:33).

So cleanse my heart and purify my soul. Give me right thoughts and right desires. Give me clean hands and a pure heart. Give me a passion to "pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace" -- all by Your power and all by Your grace at work within me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  I pray the Holy Spirit will continually cleanse your heart and purify your soul, shaping you into a vessel of honor for our God. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 15 - Constant, Steadfast God

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me start this day centered in You, grounded in Your Word, and filled with Your Spirit.  ...

"God is not a human being, that He should lie, or a mortal, that He should change His mind. Has He not promised, and will He not fulfill it?" (Numbers 23:19)

You are my constant and steadfast God. Your Word is certain and Your promises are secure. You are faithful and true, unwavering and worthy of my trust. You'll never leave me nor forsake me; You're always with me. You're always at work to bring out the best in me and work out Your best for me. And that gives me peace and comfort and strength in the security of Your unfailing love for me. "He who did not withhold His own Son, but gave Him up for all of us, will He not with Him also give us everything else?" (Romans 8:32) "No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly" (Psalm 85:11).

You've given Your best for me. I want to give my best for You, as best as I can and all by Your grace. "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by Him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). I want to love You and honor You and serve You this day and every day because You are so good and faithful to me. I love You because You first loved me (1 John 4:19). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

Morning by Morning, October 10 - Holy Fire from the Heart

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, sanctify me in spirit, soul, and body. As best as I can and all by Your grace, I give as much of me to You as I can; and I receive as much of You within me as I can. I pray that tomorrow I'll be able to give You more -- more and more, every day until the day You come to embrace Your Body and receive Your Bride.  ....

"May the God of peace himself sanctify (me) entirely; and may (my) spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls (me) is faithful, and He will do this. Beloved, pray for (me)" (1 Thessalonians 5:23-25).

Yes, Lord. Hear my prayer. Here I am. I can never be holy from the outside in, trying to be good enough or do all the right things to be righteous enough. But You can make me holy from the inside out -- holy from the heart (Philippians 2:13). Take the Holy Fire from Your altar in heaven and sanctify me; ignite Your Holy Fire in my spirit and send me (Isaiah 6:6-8). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  I pray the God of all peace would sanctify you entirely in spirit and soul and body, that He would burn within you with His Holy Fire from your heart. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, October 8 - Harmony of the Heart

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I honor You and worship You -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I yield to You and welcome You into every area of my life and every moment of my day.  ...

"Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony" (Colossians 3:13-14).

Forgive, love, embrace -- this is the harmony of the heart. Forgive one another; love one another; embrace one another. Don't focus on offences, but seek ways to mend fences. Don't pull away and isolate, but come together and celebrate. Perfect harmony flows from a pure heart that's willing embrace and be embraced, to love and be loved, to forgive and be forgiven.

Show us how to live this way -- to desire it and to do it. Empower us to be one in "one body and one Spirit" (Ephesians 4:4). Embrace us as we embrace one another in "the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). When we are one in this way, in the harmony of the heart, the world will know that the Father has sent His Son and we are the body of His Son filled with the Spirit of God (John 17:23). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  I pray the Lord God will empower you to forgive, love, and embrace in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace in all your relationships as the Holy Spirit leads. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Let Your Light come down and fill my soul
Let Your Love rise up and let it flow

Let Your Light come down and fill my soul
Let Your Love rise up and let it flow

I am wholly Yours
I'm Forever Yours

I will not back off; I will not let go

That the world may know You've sent Your Son

As the Body and the Bride, come make us one
That the world may know You've sent Your Son

I am wholly Yours
I'm Forever Yours

I am wholly Yours
I'm Forever Yours

Yes, Lord. Thank You for writing this song of declaration in my spirit this morning. Let it be so. "It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). And "with gratitude in (my) heart (I will) sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God" (Colossians 3:16). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Morning by Morning, October 2 - Always Near

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I open wide my heart and welcome in Your Spirit deeply into my spirit. Make me one with You in the communion of prayer, as I begin my day deliberately abiding in the depths of Your Presence.  ...

"When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord rescues them from them all" (Psalm 34:17-19).

We're only "the righteous" because of the blood of the Righteous One. We're only forgiven because of the Forgiving One, just as we are only the sons and daughters of God because of the Fathering One. But it's all true -- we are forgiven and clean, righteous and pure, even holy in the sight of the Holy One who is our merciful and mighty Father. And nothing can separate us from the One who loves us (Romans 8:38-39). You're always near.

And when we cry for help, You hear us and answer us. When we're weary and brokenhearted, You hold our hearts in Your hands. When we are wounded and crushed, You breathe new life into our spirits. When we are afflicted or confused, rejected or ashamed, discouraged or depressed, lonely or afraid, You rescue us and deliver us in the security and safety of Your strong arms.

Why? ...

"Because I love You."

Why do You love us?

"Because I am Love. And I created you for a relationship of love with Me. I cannot help but love. I cannot help but love you. That's who I Am. And that's who I have created you to become. As I Am, so are you to be in this world."

Yes, Lord. Thank You for loving me. Thank you for hearing me when I call, for healing me and forgiving me, for rescuing and delivering me all these times, all out of Your love. You are my faithful Father. And I am Your beloved child, always and forever. Help me grow up to be more like You. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  I pray you would always know our God is always near -- whenever you're brokenhearted, crushed in spirit, afflicted or afraid. May you always know He loves you deeply and He always will. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, September 30 - Always with Us

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I love You, Lord, in every Dimension of Your Being -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- from every dimension of my being -- spirit, soul, and body -- and I welcome You into every dimension of my life -- past, present, and future.  ...

"For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:  I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and revive the heart of the contrite" (Isaiah 57:15).

You are the God who dwells in the highest heaven, yet You also humble Yourself to dwell in our hearts. You see the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end, yet You also see every tear that falls in every moment of our pain. You are surrounded by heavenly, holy beings full of peace and love and joy, yet You also delight to surround each of us and celebrate with us every moment of laughter. You are with us always (Matthew 28:20).

Lord, give me a sense of Your Presence with me throughout the moments of my day. Remind me that You are with me not matter where I am, not matter what I do (Psalm 139:8). Let the knowledge of that truth help keep me accountable, but also secure, as one of Your children who knows his Father is always watching but also always near. "You show me the path of life. In Your Presence there is fullness of joy" (Psalm 16:11). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My Friend,  may you be comforted and secure in the knowledge of the truth Your Father God is always with you, and in His Presence there is fullness of joy. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Friends, that you so much for your prayers for us for our team last weekend at Calvary United Methodist Church in Flint, Michigan at our "Hearing God and Prophecy" conference. The Holy Spirit was teaching us to pray and prophecy in the love of God to build up, encourage, and comfort His people from His heart (1 Corinthians 14:1-3).

We are teaching our Level 1 School of Ministry for Sozo Inner Healing Prayer Ministry Thursday through Saturday this week, Oct 3-5, being hosted at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio. Only a few seats are left so please contact us right away if you'd like to come:  www.RaphaGodMinistries.com

Morning by Morning, September 8 - Priority of Perspective

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Open the eyes of my heart to see You. Awaken and sharpen all my spiritual senses to experience and encounter You, Lord God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- now and throughout the moments of my day.  ...

"So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God" (Colossians 3:1-3).

By the power of the grace of God, I willingly choose to deliberately set my mind on the things that are above, on the things are unseen, on the things of the spiritual, heavenly realm. My feet are on earth, but my heart is heaven. Help me keep the priority of my perspective straight, "because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:16).

Some say we shouldn't be so heavenly-minded that we are no earthly good. Your Word says just the opposite. Your Word says we are not to set our minds on things that are on earth, but in the heavens. We're to be aware of the things of earth, to be engaged with the things of earth, but to have the priority of our perspective on the spiritual, heavenly realm. As You taught us to pray, we are to constantly seek Your heavenly realm and then pray, "Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10).

Lord, I don't want to be detached, but I also don't want to be defined by the limitations and restrictions of this earthly realm. In Christ, I'm created for both -- living in the earthly realm and abiding in the heavenly realm. "But God, who is rich in mercy, out the great love with which He loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ -- by grace you have been saved -- and raised us up with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 1:4-6). So let me live another day with my head and my heart in the clouds of heaven. Let that be my priority of perspective. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Morning by Morning, September 26 - "One Spirit with Him"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are One with the Father and One with the Holy Spirit. Be One within me as You make me more like You today.  ...

"But anyone united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him" (1 Corinthians 6:15).

Lord, let Your mind be united with my mind. Let Your heart be united with my heart. Let Your thoughts and Your desires and Your will be united with mine. By Your Spirit at work within my spirit, cause me to desire what is right and do what is right, to desire Your ways and do what You say -- not just because I have to, but because I want to (Philippians 2:13).

I don't have the power to live a life that pleases You in my own power. Apart from You, I can do nothing (John 15:5). But I am never apart from You; You are with me always (Matthew 28:20). You never push me away and Your never let go. "For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on You" (Psalm 86:5). You constantly create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10).

Your Holy Spirit -- the very Spirit of Christ, the Promise of the Father, the Seal of my redemption, the Guardian and Guide of my soul -- dwells in me and is at work with in me, making me more like You in "spirit and soul and body" that I may be "sound and blameless at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:23). By the grace of God, that's my desire -- despite every sin and failure to the contrary, along my journey of spiritual maturity to grow up into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29). Now throughout the moments of my day, let my spirit be one spirit with You. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Morning by Morning, September 25 - One Body, One Spirit

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Make me one with You, one with Your Body of Christ, one in ministry with all Your Body to all the world until I feast with You at Your heavenly banquet in final victory.  ...

"There is one Body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all" (Ephesians 4:4-6).

Your Spirit is aligning and empowering all the parts of Your Body. Together, we are one in the Spirit and one in the Lord. You're calling us to come together and get along. You're teaching us how we need You and need one another, so that we can fully know our identity and fulfill our destiny in Christ.

You're equipping us together as one, showing us the foolishness and failure that we've experienced when we've tried to go it alone out of our selfish need for control, fear of rejection, and mindset of mistrust (v. 4:12). You're growing us up and building us up -- both personally and in relationship with those You've chosen to divinely align in our lives -- "until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ" (v. 4:13). In the fullness of Your time and fulfillment of Your plan, for each one of us and for all of us together, we will be Your "whole Body, joined and knit together ... working properly ... building itself up in love" (v. 4:16).

As one Body in one Spirit, You will open up Your heavens, pour out Your power, and manifest Your glory. In the place of unity and maturity as one with You and one with each other, You will release the fullness of your favor and command the faithfulness of Your blessing (Psalm 133:1-3). Lord, let it be so. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

My Friend,  I pray the Holy Spirit of the Living God will divinely align you and mightily empower you as one with the Lord and one with those He's knitting together in your life and ministry for His glory. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!
