Morning by Morning, June 13 - The Promise of the Holy Spirit Poured Out in Us Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your voice and the leading of Your Spirit in my heart to begin my day deliberately, intentionally seeking and following You (John 10:27). ... I’ve been reading again the words of the Apostle Peter on the Day of Pentecost, as he boldly declared to everyone the testimony of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. He called this outpouring of the Holy Spirit the “promise” from the Father and “poured out” by Jesus upon the people of God, now available to all who would answer the call of “the Lord our God,” proclaiming: “This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”’ “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Men and brethren, what shall we do?’ “Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call” (Acts 2:32-39). This Promise of the Father, this outpouring of “the gift of the Holy Spirit” is for me and for my children, for every child of God who hungers and thirsts for You and the Presence and power of Your Spirit filling us up and overflowing through our lives, who will answer Your call available to all. “The promises of God in (Christ) are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us!” (2 Corinthians 1:20). “God is faithful, by whom (we) were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9). So this day and every day, I receive Your promise and embrace Your Spirit. I answer Your call and obey Your command to “be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). In this mystery of faith and by the power of God and the outpouring of Your Spirit, may I continually position my human spirit to “be baptized with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 1:6), to “receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon (me)” to “be (one of Your) witnesses to (You wherever I am) and to the end of the earth!” (Acts 1:8) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

My friend, may you be "baptized with the Holy Spirit," filled up and overflowing with the Presence and the power of the Holy Spirit--this day and every day--to be a "testimony" to Jesus wherever you are and everywhere He sends you by His Spirit. God bless you, my friend! And you have a great day!
