"Here in the Presence of God" 2-17-07

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Thank You for the gift of Your love and treasure of Your presence. ... "So now all of us are here in the presence of God to listen to all that the Lord has commanded you to say" (Acts 10:33). In a few moments, I'll leave to go down to the Shaker Village, where the Shakers of centuries past made a home along the Kentucky River, set apart from the ways of the world. Today our prayer ministry team at church is coming away with You for the day to seek Your face and listen for Your voice, as we commit ourselves to discern Your vision for our ministry. So the most important part is to come together with humble hearts that welcome the presence of God so that we may hear all You have to say. Help us get quiet enough to hear Your thoughts and sense Your leading beyond our own. Let us not waste a moment following our vision, but Yours alone. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
