Morning by Morning, October 10, 2024 - “He Hears, He Rescues” Good morning, Lord Jesus. My eyes are on You, my Rock and Refuge. ... “As for me, I will call upon God, And the Lord shall save me” (Psalm 55:16) As phrased in The Message: “I call to God; God will help me. At dusk, dawn, and noon I sigh deep sighs—He hears, He rescues. My life is well and whole, secure in the middle of danger...” (Psalm 55:16 The Message). In the middle of the storm surging across Florida, I thank You for the those who are sent to search and rescue, to seek out and save those who are in danger. They are an extension of Your hands and heart for all who are suffering. I thank You that my family there is still safe, but at the same time I continue to pray for all who are not yet safe, feeling overwhelmed, exposed, vulnerable, or afraid. Lord, send Your Word, send Your Spirit, send Your angels, send Your people who will bring them to safety and security in You. Be with them and remind them of the Promise of Your Presence declared in Your Word through all they go through--whether in this storm in Florida or any other storm of life: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior” (Isaiah 43:2-3). You say, “Fear not, for I am with you” (v. 5). God, hear and rescue this day. See and rescue this day. Be near to all who call upon Your name to rescue and save. Bring them through the floods and waters. Bring them up into Your embrace. Let the Promise of Your Word in the embrace of Your Presence through all they’re going through hold them secure as You get them through all that surges against them: “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation” (Psalm 91:14-16).
