Morning by Morning, October 15, 2024 - Bright Morning Star Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look with the eyes of my heart and listen with the ears of my spirit, as I wait for Your leading. ... As I wait, I hear in my heart, “Bright Morning Star.” ... Immediately, Your Words recorded in the final Chapter of the Book of Revelation come to mind: “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star” (Revelation 22:16). Then the Words expressed in response: “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). Lord Jesus, You are our Bright Moring Star. Just like the morning star is the brightest star in the sky when night turns to dawn, compelling our attention as we look up into the heavens, so You compel our attention now. Despite the darkness of our times, the evil of these days, the struggles we face, Your Light is constant, Your mercy is sure, Your love never fails. You are always here to lead us into the dawn of a new day -- morning by morning, day by day. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV). So my spirit says, “Come!” Come, Lord Jesus into every moment of my day with Your Light and Your Love that never fades and never fails. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
