Morning by Morning, October 29, 2024 - “The Lord is My Shepherd” Good morning, Lord Jesus. You steady my soul as I wait on You in the communion of prayer. ... As I wait on You and listen for Your leading this morning -- embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit -- one of the first Scriptures I ever learned, as my mom would lead us in prayer at night, comes to mind: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever” (Psalm 23:1-6). One of my first, One of my favorites, One that is sealed in my heart forever. Every word is my prayer. Every word is a declaration of Your goodness and mercy and my desperate dependence upon You alone for all I am and all I need -- right now this morning, throughout every moment of this day, and “All the days of my life.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
