Morning by Morning, October 17, 2024 - We’ve Entered the Days of the Feast of Tabernacles Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name, “the name which is above every name,” over my life and every moment of my day (Philippians 2:9). ... According to the rhythm and cycles of the Biblical calendar of the fall feasts, we’ve now entered into the seven days of the Feast of Tabernacles. As with all the other feasts of the Old Covenant, they are all pointing to You and ultimately fulfilled in You. They all “testify of (You)” (John 5:39). And this Feast celebrates the harvest and the goodness of the provision of God, reminding us that You are our Provider, our Deliverer, our Shelter, as You abide and “tabernacle” among us. “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it. “These are feasts of the Lord.... “Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the Lord for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest. And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God’” (Leviticus 23:33-43). Like all the other feasts and sacrifices, all the Law and the Prophets, these were a type and shadow of ultimate fulfillment in You and Your Kingdom, Lord Jesus (John 5:39, 46; Luke 24:27; Matthew 5:17-18; Romans 10:4; Hebrews 10:1-7). “For all God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ ascends to God for His glory” (2 Corinthians 1:20). The Feast of Tabernacles speaks of joy, celebration, and thanksgiving. The work was finished. The harvest had come in. There was joy in the house of the Lord. Not a time to be silent, but a time to shout out their praise from hearts thankful for the goodness of God. I shout out my praise to You this morning, my Lord. I’m thankful for Your goodness. I’m thankful for the harvest. I’m thankful that the work is done through the finished work of The Cross for my salvation. And I’m thankful that now I get to join in the work of the Kingdom of God by the power and grace of Your Spirit moving through me and all the Body and Bride of Christ, that Your Kingdom may come and Your will may be done, here on earth as it is in heaven. I’m thankful and expectant for the harvest to come. Souls that will be saved. Lives that will be changed. Healing, deliverance, revival, and awakening. Here on earth as it is in heaven. Here in my heart. Here in my city, my region, my nation, and to the ends of the earth. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
