"Beloved, if our hearts do
not condemn us, we have boldness before God; and we receive from Him whatever we
ask, because we obey His commandments and do what pleases Him. And this is His
commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love
one another, just as He has commanded us. All who obey His commandments abide in
Him and He abides in them. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the
Spirit that He has given us" (1 John 3:21-24).
When we believe and when we
love, we please You. It's not by our power, nor by our might, but by Your Spirit
that we can desire this or do this. "For it is God who is at work in (us),
enabling (us) both to will and to work for His good pleasure" (Philippians
2:13). As we abide in You and You abide in us, Your Spirit changes our hearts
and what we desire, just as Your Spirit changes our minds and how we
think.
In that deep place of
communion between Your Holy Spirit and our human spirit, where Deep calls to
deep, we have peace and intimacy with You. That's the place where "there is
therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus;" and that's the
place where "the law of the Spirit of the life of Christ has set (us) free"
(Romans 8:1-2). In that place of completely surrendered, un-condemning, intimate
prayer, "we have boldness before God, and we receive from Him whatever we ask."
There's where I belong, and that's where I want to be. In Jesus' name I pray.
