Morning by Morning, June 24 - Aligned in Time by God
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Align my heart with Your heart, my thoughts with Your thoughts, and every moment of my day with the leading of Your Spirit -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...
“For the Lord is God, and He created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. ‘I am the Lord,’ He says, ‘and there is no other’” (Isaiah 45:18 NLT).
Around the world, people were getting up early this morning in time to see the planets aligned. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, along with our moon, aligned in an arc across the sky to be visible just before dawn. Even in the order of their alignment from the sun, they were aligned in time by God.
“The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display His craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make Him known” (Psalm 19:1-2).
“By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host” (Psalm 33:16).
Just like You align the planets in the skies, You align the hearts and minds of all who would turn to You, to trust in You, to align our lives with Your will in Your time. Somehow in the both the sovereignty of Your will and the freedom of our will, You give us the freedom to allow You to align our lives with Your plans and fulfill Your purposes -- not only for us, for also for all those You would touch through us.
You set before us life or death, blessings or curses, living in the ways of Your Spirit or living in the ways of our flesh (Deuteronomy 30:19; Galatians 5:16). You invite us to choose to “trust in the Lord with all (our) heart, and lean not on (our) own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). “We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer” (Proverbs 16:1 NLT).
We were “called to be free” and to “use (our) freedom” to “serve one another humbly in love” rather than choose to “indulge the flesh” (Galatians 5:13). We can use our freedom to serve ourselves or serve You (Joshua 24:15). We can choose to trust and believe in You or trust and believe in ourselves as the sovereign ruler and savior of our lives (John 3:16). But all who willing choose to trust You and receive You and all You have for our lives in Your mercy and love receive “the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).
By the mercy of Your grace, I choose to trust You. I choose to trust Your alignment and Your timing for my life. Set things right in my heart, Lord. Align my thoughts with Your thoughts, my desires with Your desires. Align the times of my life with the timing of Your plans. I trust Your Word to be true for me and for all who choose to put their trust in You:
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (Jeremiah 29:11). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
